Zizai Anyone?

Has anyone ever heard of ZIZAI as a chinese pen manufacturer?

 

 

This pen is for sale on Bobby's Etsy for $48.00US. That seems steep for a pen I've never heard of and yet that resin looks great. #5 Schmidt nib.

Can't speak to the specific brand, but everything I've bought from Bobby has been good to great quality for a very reasonable price. This particular pen doesn't appeal to me - I prefer gold trim - and I agree, it's not cheap! But I'd expect it to be a good value proposition.

That's another one of those more recent FASHION oriented designer brand pens ; they have several models that sell on their own ( home market ) online retail store ; I believe the current roster is two, the pocket pen and this one which is named as the 似季風雅 series literally meaning " like seasons' elegance " which I suppose relay to the 4 colour option they had ; typical no.5 Schmidt nib and C/C filling ..

New to me so I had a look on taobao. Sure enough...

 

The have a second pen as well. They call this the lipstick model. You pull the nib unit out and re-insert it in the barrel pointy end out and you have a pen.

 

Fancy packaging. Faceted barrel. Only takes cartridges.

 

"I love you" model in floral acrylics (@US$50). "Me too" aluminum model (@US$35) in more muted colors.

I like faceted barrels a lot but step-downs are like nails on the chalkboard.

The price is not something I fancy although not as bad as the LIY price points.

Pretty sure the expensive part is the Schmidt nib, since Moonman were able to press down on their price after ditching the Schmidt nibs.

The price is more about the " FASHION " and " DESIGNER " part .. Kaco use Schmidt nib unit too and they can have pens that cost fairly reasonable and then some others too both Chinese and elsewhere

AFAIK it is the replacement of the Schmidt nib with the Moonman F nib. Other than the clip there is no other difference. I like the Moonman in any case and took the Schmidt off my M600.
