This was a great shock to me.

Anthony and I had our "differences", but it was all in fun. He once PM'd me to make sure I hadn't been offended by something he had posted in response to something I'd said, and was afraid I'd left in a huff (and I had to assure him that the truth was that I just hadn't had time to log on for a couple of days -- and that if he had REALLY gotten me PO'd that he would be the first to know it! B)

Hopefully he has been reunited with his beloved wife, who I know from his posts he truly treasured and missed.

What sad news to hear. I found his posts to inject a certain jazziness and lightness into our various threads.

Linda - thank you for taking the time to let us know and I'm sorry for your loss. Please let his family know that despite his feelings about an obit, there are those who didn't know him who did care. His reach was greater than he knew.

RIP Anthony

Linda, you are reflecting Anthony's own deep kindness in letting us know. It was his kindness that made fountain pens special to me and drew me into this forum. I can't begin to say how much I will miss him and his posts. Until FPN, I had never joined anything online. But his love for those Parkers and his family and all of us was quite contagious, and I always looked forward to what he was sharing here at FPN. His generous heart will not soon be forgotten, and the deep way he cared about those around him--even those of us merely virtual--is something I will never lose sight of. Thank you, Anthony--from here on the other side of the river. ~m

Yes, he will be missed. He always struck me as a man from a different era, one of manners, politeness and maturity. No, agreement was not something I had with him on many things, but he reminded me of some of the better people I grew up with a long time ago as elders, most now gone and missed.

Prayers for his family and friends. I have enjoyed reading his posts and valued his opinion about all things pen and non-pen related. I would have enjoyed having a cannoli with him if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Talked privately a couple of times. Disagreed others and agreed still other times.

Sadness beyond words. Go with God, Anthony.

Anthony was a voice of calm reason, much liked and admired.

Anthony was helpful and kind. I was always grateful for his responses on my posts and those of others. I am so sorry to learn of this accident, and yet to die while enjoying something he loved is the blessing in this tragedy. Prayers for all who knew and loved him.

If a charity like gofundme is to be set up, please post it here.

I'm sure we'd all set aside a purchase or two to help his family.

I am deeply saddened. I would often scroll through posts just to see what Anthony had to say about a particular topic. I always suspected that he and I did not see the universe the same way (although we both shared a membership in the Catholic Church), but I still admired him and knew that if we ever met we could laugh together and share stories. Linda, please share more with us.

Now we have a little more reason to learn something from Anthony, and tell ourselves and others to be well and enjoy life. I am greatly saddened by this news. But also reassured by Linda's awareness that FPN meant a lot in Anthony's life and her kind thought that Anthony might have meant a lot to the members of this community. As he did.

It's strange, but this hits me harder than I would have expected. We communicated a few times in PM's about off-topic things, as well as expanding on a few thread topics. My personal religious beliefs are vastly different from his, but our business beliefs were reasonably close (or so I believe). I hope that his faith helped him at the end, and that it helps those of his family and close friends.

I too am grateful that Linda has taken the time to come here to bring closure to the community in his name. There have been many forums that I've participated in, and many people I've know, who simply ... stopped. There's always the lack of closure of even someone saying "I'm going elsewhere for a while."

I hope his pens find a good home, where they will be used joyfully. That would possibly be one of his best legacies.

this is a surprising sadness. Anthony's genuine and simple honesty was a refreshing approach in an all too common harsh world. My condolences and sympathy to those near and close to him. He sounds to have been a great guy, and though we didn't correspond directly I always read and enjoyed his printed thoughts.

My thanks to Linda for taking the time to pass on the details of his wishes.
