Anyone know/think/speculate/tried if a Moonman M2 Nib unit would be compatible w/ the M6?

not at all. the M6 is a #6 nib. the M2 is a #5.

Both nibs are really, really great on their own merits. I find the M2 nibs (I buy them in bulk for cheap #5 nib pens since they're so incredibly consistent with a little flex and bounce too) to have a very pilot-esque like light "drag" on the page, and the M6 (though this one is my only experience with it, I have another model with the same nib on the way) is glassy smooth.

Copy everything in sight.™

I started looking at their line and they're also ripping off ohto pens right now

It's funny how so many of their pens are wonderfully designed and unique, but they also just make some utter shameless copies.

Thanks for sharing, they're really quite something to look at. Do you think there's risk of staining them when filling? I love the natural looking ones but imagine I would be petrified of ruining them...

Don't think so. The section is plastic so no worries there.

Oh of course, I didn't think about that while reading it. Thanks!

the section is a really nice feeling plastic, perfectly polished and no injection seam.

I'm just liking this thing more and more - the cap is really secure despite only taking 3/4 turn to remove. The shape and clip are really nice and well balanced, the metal in the section makes it feel slightly forward heavy (which I really like, similar to a lot of japanese pens and the lamy 2000) and the section is a little thicker than normal and the nib is just hot buttered glass.

Even the cap just feels really nice with a satisfying amount of pressure as you cap it (similar to the 3776 right when you hit the cap liner)

My only complaint is that it's not perfect against dryout. If you leave it to set for 5 or 6 days unused, it will be a little dry in the nib. But that may just be the ink I'm using being less than perfect in manners (DC supershow blue by PR has done this in other pens, just runs away from the nib if it sits) since it doesn't seem to be drying out in the converter and just needs a quarter turn to prime it, and the cap does have an inner seal, I'm leaning towards that. I'll fill it with a more typical ink when I finish this one and see.

If you're on the fence about this pen, get it. Unless I got a freak of QC in the perfection that is this nib, everyone who gets it is in for a treat. It's not soft or bouncy, but it's nice flowing, very handsome (being a #6 it's well proportioned to the large pen) and writes about a western F/EF

I got my one as soon as it was released. The wooden threads on the cap starts to show some wear. To clarify, it's wood threads against metal threads so wear should be expected. But it's one place where I'll keep an eye on longetivity.

My sample size for this nib is now up to two. Moonman also uses it in their new C1 clear acrylic pen. The second one is as good as the first. :)

I like the look of that red one. But I am saying no right now to new pens. I love the feel of my wooden 51A, so I think that I will like this even more (bigger, better).

Can't say I'm greatly excited by it. I ordered the green sandalwood and received a dull brown pen made out of cheap wood that's brown and has no green tint at all. They have tried to make it smell of sandalwood, but its that acrid fake smell that's thankfully fading with each passing day. It doesn't really post, the cap has a shiny varnish but the body doesn't, the balance is a bit weird and the nib feels roughly finished.

I think the lesson here is that sandalwood costs a lot of money and you shouldn't ever buy anything cheap named sandalwood

Sounds like people are disappointed in the colored versions. I went with a "real wood" finish and I got an absolute stunner. I think it's a wide grain zebrawood.

Exotic woods are f**king expensive. Like insanely expensive. I have a pen I made from thuya burl, a wood that a single blank of costs north of $50 now.

(if any of you ever get the opportunity to get a pen made from that wood, do it. It smells like the big crayon-like school pencils from your childhood. Forever. Mine still smells amazing after 12 or 13 years)

And I would probably avoid the green and red varnished models and stick with the dark or "natural" finish on the M6 based on reports.

I received my Moonman M6 today from Bobby on Etsy and did a video of my unwrapping and first look.

Nice review. Seems most everyone is surprised by the girth of the pen. I was.

It's good to see consistent quality in the nibs that are going out. So far I haven't seen any sub-par reports.

Thanks, EDC. I like the size of the pen. I wish the section were a tad longer as my thumb is right on that step.

Chrome's web page translation is quite handy.

But the problem is most sellers on Taobao only ships within China.

Including the shipping cost of shipping-forward company, the Taobao price is not that much cheaper than Ebay or Etsy in many cases.

I, too, recommend Bobby. He sells on ebay, Instagram, and Etsy, shipping internationaly. Fluent English and very kind.
