Waterman Ballpoint And Case 1970’S

I have a Waterman ballpoint and case given to me in the 1970’s. I ask for help in identifying the model and name they assigned to it. I do not see any comparable pens on various websites due to the 2 rings on the bottom portion of the barrel and its tapered curve. The cap snaps on vs. screw on. The widest part of the barrel is 14mm. I cannot find any model number or serial number on it. The top of the cap is at an angle and has the W logo imprinted on it. Anyone have any ideas? Expert Series 1

The other series 1 do not have the hour glass design.

All Expert series have the barrel form. The most obvious change is the profile of the gold plated rings.

 

Series 1 = very convex.

Series 2 = Flat

Series 3 = Flat and one on the cap is wider. Additional and major change being they have stainless steel nibs, fancy caps and different colour.

Waterman's website says the Expert was released in 1992.

Thanks ballboy, it was given to me between 1977 -1979 at a Sunbeam Corp meeting in Oakbrook IL.

I have a 1987+ brochure showing Series 1 and question that it was in production in the 70s. I thought Waterman were still C/F and Titan refill then. But hey the Waterman web shows vintage Ladies at 1987 😀

Force is correct. I decided to ask the experts at Waterman and here is what they said:

"Thank you for your e-mail and the pictures of your pen. It has been recognized as a Waterman Expert Rollerball Pen, first generation. It was manufactured between 1989 and 1996. I am still baffled as to why the Waterman web shows a pair of vintage Lady pens at 1987. Even though I have informed them of the error....many times.
