Hello From Seville, Spain

Hello everyone from Spain, thank you for accepting me here.

By chance I discovered that some of the old fountain pens that I had at home were of Japanese origin, maybe someone could help me identify the artist who made it.

It is an old Dunhill brand box that contains a fountain pen, a pen and a cigarette holder. The pen is signed, but the pen is not. The Dunhill Namiki pen is number 6. It was a wedding gift from 1936, and its owner died in the Spanish Civil War in 1937.

I hope you like it and I thank you for your reception.

Hello and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

I would say you've got a very important and expensive pen there, especially if you have the provenance of the original owner as evidence. I think the design is called "Golden Pheasant", which is also part of Namiki's current "Nippon Art" range.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!

Thank you all for your reception and comments, I am pleasantly surprised and it seems to me a forum of authentic experts.

My friend Catherine, from Diest, Belgium, managed to identify the artist. His name is Hogai or Hokai Kato, I have also found another work signed by him, that you can see in the following link:

Thank you Henricum_Tropen, from Cape Town, for your comment, I have been looking at the Golden pheasant link, but I think it could be another species of bird, maybe a common pheasant, like the one that can be seen in this link

Thank you very much, I hope you spend a wonderful week
