Anyone Ever Get An Inked Pen From China?

Now I know some companies like Lamy test their nibs before discharge from the factory, resulting in trace amounts of ink in the feed. Well I got a Jinhao x750 in the post from Aliexpress today and when I tried to flush it before use it gave me this.

I don't even know what that ink is, it's a weird red-orange and it's very cloudy, making it kind of look like blood serum  . So does Jinhao occasionally test new pens with orange inks or did this seller just send me a used pen?

Pretty common many Chinese retailers test their pen before shipping out and the de facto test is red ink and a couple line of text. Some even like to send the test strip together with the pen ..

Yeah. I agree with above. It’s pretty much industry standard to test the pen with red ink before dispatching. Nothing to worry about.

I see. I was a bit worried since this is my 9th or so Chinese pen purchase and I had never seen it come inked before. Guess there is no need to be overly concerned.

It's kind of like a retailer thing as opposed to a pen maker thing. So it varies from sellers to sellers.
