Hello,

I'm in the process of modifying a Kaweco Al-Sport to give it a much more rugged look.

Yes, I know they make two versions that are stonewashed, but I'm not pleased with the colors nor the outcome of their stonewashing process.

 

Anyway, would anyone happen to know what the medallion/finial on the Al-Sport is made of?

Do you think it's rhodium plated, or maybe chrome? Could also be polished stainless steel I suppose. And if it's plated what's the base? Brass, or maybe steel?

 

Also, on a related note, how is it attached? Is it glued in, pressure fitted, screwed? how, oh how?
