Pelikan M101N Piston Unscrewed

A few weeks ago I was cleaning out the ink from my modern M101n special edition while watching television and I accidentally overtightened the piston knob, causing the entire piston assembly to unscrew from the barrel. I can't seem to get it to screw back in completely; every time I get to the end of the threading into the barrel there is still a gap between the piston knob and the barrel. I tried searching for a solution to this but nothing came up. Nothing snapped or sheared off so I assume I can fix this at home. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The fillers stroke is out of adjustment. Remove the filler from the pen. Now reassemble the filler outside the pen so that the piston moves in and out satisfactory and knob closes snugly when the piston is withdrawn. Once satisfied with the adjustments, apply some silicone grease to piston seal and screw the filler back into barrel.

Thank you so much! I finally got a chance to try this tonight and it was such a simple fix.
