Parker Duofold Ballpoint?

Hi Folks,

 

Any of you own one of these? I found one at a great price...but, still pretty-darn pricey.

Looks to be a size that would be comfortable for long writing sessions (medium hands, here).

 

Would you buy it again? Or, regret buying it? Why?

 

Obviously, for me, this pen is too expensive to buy and not use.

 

Any and all comments and thoughts appreciated.

Hi George,

 

I do own one and enjoy using it. You don't mention how much you are paying for it, I managed to get mine for a third of the rrp so while it was a good deal it's still a lot for something that won't be used. The size and weight works well for me, though obviously that's subjective, so if you get an opportunity to handle one first I'd suggest that.

 

Would I buy one again..? I don't regret buying it, and if I had the money back might be tempted to try something different but more for a variety rather than any disappointment with the Duofold, and to be honest the grass is rarely greener so I might find myself wishing I had purchased another.

 

I will say however that every time I take the pen out I do take a second just admiring how it looks.

I have a few of the duofold ballpoint. I find them to be very comfortable to write with and a nice weight also.

I have a couple of these in black, a couple in the original lapis colour, one blue marble and finally a green marble version. These are a mix of mark one and mark 2 pens.

I have a marbled blue duofold ballpoint with the gold flared top, originally supposed to be for dialing rotary phones (anybody remember those?) I have also seen a duofold ballpoint (at least supposedly a Duofold) that had a cap like the fountain pen with the point exposed when uncapped. I like mine, I find it well balanced. Don't use it to dial phones, and in fact don't use it very much except when I need to press especially hard on carbonless copies that I'm writing on. Good luck!
