Cross Nib Bent?

Hello everyone. I have just obtained a Cross century fountain pen (first model) and I was wondering about something: the nib is just a bit bent downwards. I looked at the nib and it almost looks intentional? Was it customized to be this way? Thanks for any responses. Sorry if the pic is bad. Dont have a powerful camera.

doesn't look outwardly wrong to me, but like Rene said, how's it write, and can you see if there's any marks on the nib, creases, are the tines touching weirdly, etc?

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

Send it back to Cross for free repair...they have that even if you are not the original buyer.

Don't waste time screwing with it. Mail it off after telling them it's coming.

Cross and Lamy still do full repair, of any pen, even if not original buyer.

If they repair it for free, which they will ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then you have a good feeling towards them and will buy a new one from them, some day.............the proper way to treat a customer.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

Well it writes pretty good. The nib is solid gold, but isn’t bendy. The entire nib bends up when I push down with a little force. The tines don’t split much. I’m not seeing creases. The tines are not split.

That a nib is gold or not makes no real difference in writing. A nail's a nail, be it gold or steel. What's important is the tipping and how smooth it is.

There is a gold myth that because of differences in modern inks, no longer matters.

I have a steel nibbed Cross Townsend nail...........saved a lot of money in not buying a gold nibbed nail model.

Judging from the photograph, there is nothing wrong with that nib. I own half a dozen of those pens. That is the way the nib looks.

Hello! Thank you for the confirmation. Do you know why it may be bent like that? Does it make it so that you dont have to angle the pen too much when writing?

Is there also any chance I could see your nib on your century from the side? Im just wondering, but it would be greatly appreciated.
