Ouch! Clipped Clipless...

This just...made me cross my legs and squirm. I had to share the laugh. Someone selling a Lady Sheaffer that has had a clip forced onto it. Talk about finish-ruining. Also, it's in just the orientation to beg for a capful of ink when removing it from the pocket for use!

Cheers!

:yikes:

And the emoticon is not just for the clip -- it's also for the price. I picked up a similar looking pen (only with a black section) a couple of weeks ago at a local estate sale company's warehouse sale. For $5 US. kay, mine was JUST the pen, no box. But no extraneous ugly clip, either.... Of course, I could very easily end up paying that current price in the hunt to find a converter that will fit a Skripsert (as if trying to located one for the Skripsert someone gave me recently wasn't enough of a fools errand already, I went and bought myself the Lady Skripsert as well.... :headsmack:

Mind you there really is NO accounting for eBay prices -- I saw a "rare" Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop (seriously, that's how the seller described it: as the pen being "rare") listed this afternoon for nearly $169 (!) -- and while it was probably mean of me to have done so, I messaged the seller to say, basically "WTH are you smoking?"

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I love it, Ruth! You are braver than I...I have thought many times to contact a seller and say "hey, that's NOT a PFM!" or "it can't be a snorkel without the, y'know snorkel" or some such. I have on occasion lent some friendly advice for how to sell something or list it better...

Though I will admit I picked up my holy grail pen, a Waterman's Hundred Year from the first year in jet, at a bargain price, and also a recent Eversharp Skyline with the dart pattern on the cap for embarrassingly low... it's good to be able to do your own restoration!
