Krishna Lyrebird Blue Black

This is Krishna Lyrebird Blue Black. It's a well behaved ink that smells heavily of phenol. The color is not so much blue black so much as a blue purple as shown in by the chromatography. It seems to get darker as it dries but it's not an iron gall ink. There is some water resistance, it does not run away from water but it's not water proof either. A good ink just wish it did not smell so strong and that the color matched the name better.

Nice review. Colour isn't all that bad (for me), as I take it these days that a lot of "blue-blacks" are more of a blue-grey or even blue-silver. I love the smell of phenol in an ink! My Krishna "Pencil" doesn't smell of phenol....

I got my Lyrebird Blue-black ink a week ago, but haven't opened the bottle yet.

I have used the Lyrebird Blue ink though and that one doesn't have any offending smell to it. However, when it comes to the writing experience I don't find it any better than my Bril blue ink which is way cheaper than this Krishna ink. Maybe after using this ink for a longer time my opinion will change.

Thanks 4 the review. I ordered mine today from Vanness. Now that I see it, looks boring :-(

Hope is a tiny more vibrant in person.

Thank you for showing this to us!
