2019 Aions From Endless Pens

Aion feels great! Weighing in at 33g uninked, it is massive compared to the empty AlStar 20g or Safari 12g. Beautiful design, typical superb Lamy craft, really a cool thing to behold. Writes nicely. The F nib is not quite as fine as I like but it will do.

Purchased from Endlesspens.com. The company is new in the USA mail order space. Excellent price ($49 ea plus shipping), order promptly shipped and tracked to my door, and they had the Aion about three weeks before most other suppliers. They have a nice selection of premium brands but you may not find every color/bib combination. The Aion for instance is offered only with F or M.

33g uninked, is that capped or uncapped?

I'm starting to like the Aion's design more and more.

Once my Lamy 2000 is back from Lamy and proves to be a reliable writer, I'll put the Aion on my wish-list :)

How does it compare to the Lamy 2000 in terms of handling and balance?

Why would I weigh half of a pen?

I don’t have a 2000.

Yet.

33 grams? Yikes. I had liked the look of those but that is probably going to be way too heavy a pen for me -- especially since I'm a poster. (I have a TWSBI 580-AL, and that is now my benchmark pen for weight.)

OTOH, I tried someone's Lamy 2000 last night (I think it might have been one of the Makralon ones) and that was a surprise to me: it was not too heavy for me (as opposed to an all metal 2000 I tried a couple of years ago).

I have it, i love the F nib and how it writes. I even like the look, a lot (the black one that I have, but also the upcoming red is lovely). But for my hand it is too heavy, I cannot write long with it. I ink it and use it quite rarely, together with the Pelikan pura and the Faber Castell Loom, because of the same reason: the weight.

I love them without using them. Pity.

Thanks for letting us know! The prices are very good on the site, but stock is low. Anybody know anything about the company? I saw a link for "partner in the Philippines" and they claim to want to become the biggest global pen seller.

I know these questions go beyond the Lamy forum, but still.

In my view Aion is better balanced and fits hand in a more proper way than Pura because grip is better and it will fit all persons with wet hands. I even feel that Aion is lighter. But I have no information on Pura weight.
