Walmart 5X7" (~B4) Pocket Notebook 67¢

Happened to be in Walmart and found "Junior Composition Books" 5x7" for 67¢ ! 80 micro-perforated sheets with college ruling available in a variety of colors. They had some from Indonesia and others from India; the Indian paper felt a bit smoother. Got home and tries some ink with great results, no feather and very little bleed through. Nice find!

I've generally been pleased with the cheap Indian-made mini composition books from Dollar Tree. So it doesn't surprise me that these have decent paper as well.

I think I've gotten one or two of the larger size composition books from Walmart gotten during
"back to school" sales when stuff is *really* inexpensive (the sales are designed for people to stock up). I don't think I'd like the smaller size like what you have, although.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm also a frequent customer of Wal-Mart and Dollar Tree and (like Ruth) have found the India-made notebooks to be decent.

Nice one! I don’t have a Walmart nearby but do have a Target. I’ll have to see if there’s anything similar.

 

I have had all good experiences with Indian-made paper which, I believe, consistently has a high bagasse or sugar cane fiber content.

 

I have a local 99cent store which carries composition notebooks made in India and the paper is also quite fountain pen ink friendly.

The WalMart near me in south Reno NV has trouble keeping shelves stocked.

Finally found some of these notebooks there a couple days ago.

Somehow, all of them ended up in my basket and I find the quality exceptional for the price.

OCArt, Thanks for sharing this. I am always on the hunt of fountain pen friendly paper and yet affordable. I will see if my local Walmart carries those!
