Noodler's Georgia Peach

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

This ink was a pleasant surprise! :) I had made two erroneous assumptions prior to its arrival.

1. I thought I'd have to mix something with it to make it dark enough to be

readable without eye strain.

2. I thought it would be opaque like the Noodler's waterproof colors, since St.

Patrick's Eire, another ink in the Electric Color/Highlighter/Neon series shows as

opaque in the bottle shown on Swisher's web site.

The scan is close, but not the exact color--the ink is even prettier. It may be considered neon but it doesn't have a neon "twang" or glare to it.

The cost is the same as the regular line of Noodler's inks--no premium for Electric Colors. On Swisher's site the color sample looks lighter than the ink is. On Art Brown's site it looks like hot pink on my monitor. I would call the color coral peach. I had no feathering problems on better papers with the Parker 75.

Enjoy!

Ann

Great review, Ann! The nuances that you are able to coax from it with the different nibs are really something. :) I'd also bet that those nuances are even more discernable in the flesh.

When you consider the scanning variables added to the differences in our various moniters and their adjustment, it's amazing that we can spot anything but major hue differences. But, we can!

Thanks, much.

Great review of an interesting color. As always, your handwriting is truly a delight for the eyes and reminds me again never to post mine :D .

That is a really nice color - thanks for the review! This is one that I would never have been interested in by just looking at the scribble scan on Swishers site - much prettier when it's seen with the written word. :)

Gerogia Peach looks very similar to Private Reserve Shell Pink

if it's comfortable to the eye, than it has the one thing I think shell pink is missing. Depth. I found shell pink far too light to use comfortably.

That Georgia peach looks really cool though. My daughter would probably love it.

NS and others...Looking at my copy of Greg Clark's Ink Sampler book I'd say that Georgia Peach is not that similar by comparison. Georgia Peach, if anything, looks more like a discontinued Private Reserve color called Baby Lips Pink (but G. Peach is really peach-coral, not pink.) The Shell Pink sample in the book also looks more watery and light in places. I think the Georgia Peach gives good coverage and is easy on the eyes. At least it seems that way with the pens I tried it in.

Thanks for the comments!

Ann

Hi Ann,

Thanks for the great ink review, and for some great, very pretty, writing (which reminds me I should start practicing again :D).

Thank you also for using several pens to write with it. I clearly shows it isn't orange, or pink, but somewhere in between, and then softer too. Wow!

Warm regards, WIm

Yeah, not all images stay in the ether forever.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I don't know about that, I loaded my images up to the FNP servers when I started, but I ran out of room and had to delete them. I have unlimited space with GoDaddy.com so I use that, but I don't know about using the FPN servers. (Though if you ask me as a moderator to find out, I will, because we ought to know).

Instead of using the upload button in the forum post editor, if you use the upload tab in the FPN header, individual images are limited to 1MB, but there is no limit on the number of images which can be uploaded.

Never, ever did I consider that I would own a bottle of Georgia Peach-colored ink. Now, I'm lusting after trying it. Thanks to this forum for broadening my horizons once again.

Since not everybody has dremel and ability, this brought me an idea, a self owned job possibility, buy Noodler's Pens in bulk say for $15 each, carve the nib, open the feed fins, and bend the feed in boiling water (as I did, it works), test the pen, and sell a flex pen for $40, $25 profit per piece, if you modify 10 pens per day, $250 profit each day. so clearly I am a business genius. (hint hint to someone)
