Thank you so much Tom for all these ink tests. Writing and photos are always awesome. It seems you fell under the parfumeur inks' spell :D I really like the wood & tobacco and the marine blue even if the flagrance doesn't remind me what it should be but the best is the Purdey & Sons Single Malt ink. I love the color and the flagrance. It is one of my favorite ink and in the Purdey pen it is a delight! I was lucky enough to be able to buy 2 additional bottles of the ink at the Paris store in September. So with 3 bottles I will be safe for long time.

With all your new inks you will have stock to spend winter :)

I am screaming I am screaming I am screaming

Right after I told myself that I already have too many Fountain pens, I just could not stop myself when I saw the MontBlanc Blue Hour Legrand. When I first saw the light reflected from the pen I was hooked and couldnt stop myself from reaching for it. After i got my hand on it it got even worse, the light reflected off the pen changes along with the movement of your hand.

I am starting to cry.... although I am glad I made this purchase I am still crying. oh god please help me. The sales rep was more than very helpful and professional, not to mention persuasive. Right before I left she handed me a booklet of Hadrian edition and I feel like I am in another trap now.

Oh by the way photopost-142513-0-64555000-1570871620_thumb.jpg

Since I havent started using it until now, I would upload writing samples later.

Congratulations, on a beautiful pen! The Blue Hour is stunning. I bought one when it first came out, maybe two years ago. Like you I tried to resist, after having just bought an expensive pen at the DC Pen Show, but I finally gave in. Enjoy!

I resisted the Blue Hour Legrand for a good while as well, but am glad I gave in to temptation. It's a marvelous pen, and a great match for its accompanying ink.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Thanks to the generous help of a fellow member, I was able to acquire a nice 236 to replace the ones I traded years ago for a 136. Its got a sweet nib and is great to write and draw with.

Haha they are great! Not necessarily the most elegantly proportioned as the barrel and cap when closed are equal lengths. Here are a few more pics from my phone:

Lovely pics, and a wartime steel nib to round it off! Thank you for posting. There's something about the equal cap and barrel lengths that does it for me :-) Happy writing.
