What's Your Most Recent Mb Purchase? 2019 Edition

Recently bought a barely used Heritage 1914 and a brand new silver barley 146. These MOP stars certainly raise the bar for my collection, especially the 1914's! It's huge!!! Considering sending in the 1914 for a nib exchange to a BB as mine came with a medium. I had my silver barley 146 swapped out for a broad nib and has been my daily writer since.

Congratulations on the recent purchases. I hope you enjoy them for years to come.

A grey striated 244 with a really nice and flexible extra fine nib. I'm currently using it for sketching in a watercolor sketchbooks and it's great.

Nice pickup Sia! The best celluloid, although some days the green striated gives it stiff competition.

Yup... shame when one arrives only to find it has a crack in the cap lip so has to be sent back! :gaah:

Are you shortening Hemingway to Hem? Was Hemi too long? :D

Cue the old Dodge commercials... "That thing got a Hemi?"

Gorgeous, looking forward to seeing more photos on your website. A 126 is top of my most wanted list right now, we seem to have similar tastes!

Thank you Zaddick, and I do agree that the green striated in good colour are just as mesmerising as the PL. I am so glad Mb doesn’t make pens as beautiful today or I would be bankrupt!

yes you have good taste :) you should know that the 126 is actually a surprisingly small pen - it’s smaller than my 134 and shorter than even my 222PL. I don’t like large pens so that’s fine but it is noteworthy. This is the same with the 129 too, it’s smaller than expected and nowhere close to the 139 in size. Good luck with finding it, these pens are wonderful!

Bought some old ink for my old pens...

Very cool, I haven’t seen these around in so many colours. Do you actually use old inks - will they cause no harm to the pens?

Yes, I do use old inks, though not in my vintage MBs. Old ink has enough fungicide to keep it goop free for a long time.

@zaddick: interesting to hear about those inks since those inks are the only vintage Montblanc inks (i habe blue and black) which changed a lot to some murky pale liquid. I was thinking this is because of the plastic type container.

Cheers

Fascinating, I had no idea. Would you be able to post a photo of your 134/126 PL side-by-side? I can do a photo of my 122/124/222/134 when I get a chance. I am conscious I owe you several photos, will do so when I get through this busy period at work.

I will patiently await a 126 becoming available. I really like the relative simplicity of the push-knob fillers; two of my 13x are now awaiting piston repair :-(

Good morning everyone,

Here is my latest purchase: a Patron of Art Carnegie 4810 (from 2002) bought from a FPN member in perfect condition!

I had searched for this precise model for quite some time, so I was particularly happy to be able to acquire it.

Yours faithfully,

Well, I gave in and bought all the new blue inks to try. I'll blame the LCdC coupon for my weakness. :gaah:

~ Is zaddick blue?

I'd be too,

If I knew,

That it's true,

Inks so new,

Will only do,

For me and you,

If perfectly blue.
