Wow. Congratulations!!!

Im a big StarWalker fan. I have never seen one with this blue dome or that grip style. Is it a new model? Do you know what the model name is? Id like to ask my dealer to acquire one for my collection. It looks great!

This is the new Starwalker 2019 line, called the Cosmos, I believe. I just picked up the stainless steel ballpoint from my local boutique two days ago.

Here's a description from La Couronne du Comte:

StarWalker, launched in 2003, has become the modern icon of Montblanc. The new streamlined 2019 edition, reviving the iconic StarWalker design elements, will be about the future: exemplifying the engineering capabilities of the Maison. The collection is themed around space exploration, with the blue dome resembling our planet and the Montblanc emblem being reminiscent to the clouds, just as the astronauts would have seen the earth when they made their first visit to the moon 50 year ago in 1969.

The 2019 collection comes in 3 varieties: resin with resin cap and barrel, doué with resin barrel and metal cap and a collection metal, made of stainless steel.

Acquired a Homer 1581 with O3B nib yesterday. A great companion to its sibling having a BB nib and the Tolstoy 1868.

Thank you so much for sharing the images of your OBBB Homer.

To write with it must be a joy!

With both a BB and an OBBB, you're exceptionally well-prepared for hours of high quality writing.

May your Homer OBBB bring you much happiness in 2019 and beyond!

Bought a pen I've wanted since childhood.

Lucked out and got a NOS one at a price I could afford.

coffee-4.jpg

I particularly enjoy the knurled details

I also love the hourglass-shaped section, reminiscent of older MBs.

It has a fine-ish Medium nib. Considering a nib swap to a broader nib, but I dip-tested it and it feels great.

Overjoyed with this purchase :) can't stop looking at it!

Wow!

Homer 1581 with an O3B nib! That's one impressive pen. Really love the design and color. A very unique and modern interpretation of a pen.

And the 1993 Agatha. That is one of the "modern" Montblanc pens which will always be a classic. I really love the subtle but elegant look and almost vintage feel. Just look at the vintaged silver parts...

Hope you both will enjoy your treasure in many, many years to come :-)

And I'm looking forward to see writing samples and what inks you will choose!

Cheers

Michael

Nothing so fancy as per above pics :) . Just a beautiful 146 Classic, in excellent shape and good old style nib.

New additions this year have been the Purdey FP, and the UNICEF Solitaire Le Grand BP.

Was lusting over the UNICEF for a few years and never pulled the trigger...only when discontinued did I deceive I wanted it...

Debating about switching up the Purdey nib for a bespoke signature nib...that is what I have been searching for, the OB on my 149 just doesnt do the job. Cant decide if I should put the signature nib on the Purdey or the 149.

Thoughts?

@ Tom K,

I know you have a signature nib, do you use it for regular writing too?

  • 2 weeks later...

My brand new Montblanc 149, Rose Gold, Medium nib just came in from La Couronne du Comte! It took a while, because they had to exchange the nib at Montblanc.

I flushed it a few times with water and a tiny amount of dishwasher liquid, filled it with Montblanc Royal Blue, and wrote the first few lines on Rhodia paper.

It is too hot now to write more then a few lines, but I am happy to say that the nib looks good: a medium, but on the finer side, just as I requested.

It fits my hand and writing style very nicely. I tried the size out with a couple of Jinhao 159 pens, but the 149 fits even better. Comfortable, relaxed grip. I am a lefty, by the way.

Pen has the same quality feel as my 146, and the large nib is absolutely gorgeous!

When it cools down a bit later this evening I'll test it out some more, but first impression is very good!

I have been on a shopping spree as of late. Over the past month, I have picked up the following pens:

  • WE Antoine Saint-Exupery
  • Le Petit Prince Solitaire
  • Le Petit Prince Aviator Solitaire Doue
  • WE Rudyard Kipling

I have used up my pen budget for this year and most likely next year, so hopefully, nothing else comes out that I desperately want to purchase.

I don't visit the forum often enough, but I have acquired:

Starwalker Resin Fineliner with 4810 Westside Wallet set.

Starwalker Resin Rollerball 2019 model

Starwalker Doué Fountain 2019 model

Classique Rollerball Platinum

I'm trying to find a good way to get broad gel refills that fit the 'rollerball/fineliner' range of Montblanc pens. The Broad fineliners I really like writing with, but the rollerballs are too thin for my taste. I like Pilot G2 broad gel rollerballs, maybe I should see if I can fit those in the MB pens.

Latest addition:  Montblanc LeGrand 146 Calligraphy Flexible Nib
