Congratulations!!!

It will last you a lifetime...

I told you it would be with the wait...

Regards,

David

Thanks! Five weeks seemed like an eternity. I had asked LCDC to check the pen for me and the first one they got had an asymmetrically cut tip, so I felt I had to pass on it. Fortunately, they got another with a day or so and it was good, and I now have it. It writes very nicely, with just a hint of feedback.

I had my "Factory Fresh" 149 in an EF that arrived 3 weeks ago that I have yet to ink...

It's a sin that I have not inked it yet...

Mighty 8th...you motivated me to ink mine...

Respectfully,

David

Oh, yes, must be inked!

He said that was unacceptable and is taking it back...

Marc...

You waited a long time however...think of the money saved... so it was well worth the wait.

Mine is now inked...I will be back in a few hours after I do some work with it.

Great Characters James Dean, got this from LCdC, had asked them to inspect the pen and test it out prior to sending it to me, they did not disappoint. They initially found a scratch at the piston area, they sent it back to MB HQ, then I guess they did a dip test because after receiving the pen, I flushed it out with water (as suggested by the good people here when receiving a new pen to remove the excess oils) and had the nib to dry with some tissues, found a very, very faint trace of blue ink, now that does not bother me for I know they did what I asked. I personally haven't inked this one yet, but I did do a quick dip test with the MB 2017 encre du desert, and found it to my liking. I was ecstatic, specially since it took a bit of time for the pen to be shipped, but I would rather wait and have a perfectly inspected and tested pen than to have something disappointing and sending it back. Michael was absolutely right about the tactile feel of the body.

That's great they will make it good for you, but it's a real shame it has to happen. Does MB think people buy their pens and not expect to use them (rhetorical question)?

Nice! Here's hoping for no unfortunate surprises....

Finally arrived back from customization by Brad Torelli. Maybe I'll call it Hemi Noir?

The original golden dragon clip looks better in real life.

But mine came without a clip as well (most likely sold by the original owner since it is solid gold) so I fitted a 139 replica clip on mine as well. But I kept the original nib.

Zaddick's pen looks nice and more original to the 139 because of the traditional Meisterstück nib.

@Lam1: I like the simple elegance of the new Petit Prince! Did you try the matching ink as well? Also I like to see another OM nib which you do not see that often!

Cheers

Michael

I envy you both for your beautiful 139ish contemporary Montblancs. I am not so much in vintage pens, and something like your modified models is exactly what I would like to own: a modern, solid, reliable, hassle-free pen with all the charme of a classical model.

Should one of you become tired of his pen, please do not forget contacting this FPN member...

Will do Fpupulin. I waited a long time for this pen to be fixed and set up with a vintage nib so it might be with me for a while, but you are on the list should it become available.

I'm using it today.

My brand new, straight from the boutique, just how I want it, rose (red) gold 146 with an EF nib is en route expected Wednesday. I might even take the day off so I can be home to sign for it.

My fingers are always inky and I'm always looking for something new.  Interested in trading?  Contact me!

Yesterday I found an AD that had a supply of a few “harder to find” inks so I have 7 bottles of montblanc ink headed my way. I’ll post pics next week when it arrives.

Which inks did you get?

I‘ve ordered a set of new Montblanc inks yesterday. However two of the Elixir Parfumeur are still missing.

Cheers

I just tested out my New in Box Factory Fresh 2019 149 in an EF Nib for the last 1 1/2 days.

Isn't there suppose to be slight line variation between horizontal and vertical strokes in an EF Nib?

My older 80 and 90s EF and F have slight line variation.

This new nib is like writing with a Goulet EF...no line variation at all.

Am I correct for line variation on a new 2019 MB EF Nib?

Thanks,

David

If so I have to return this back to Dennis as well...I think already know the answer...just want to verify to make sure I am not crazy...because now I am 0-2. He is going to be so frustrated...Heritage for skipping and now this.

I can't see any line variation on my modern 146 EF and Shakespeare EF.

I'm maintaining a comprehensive list of Iron-Gall inks. Contributions most welcome! bit.ly/irongall

Not a very noticeable variation, but you may see that in my no. 9 EF nibs (1990–1992) the vertical stroke is thinner than the horizontal.
