This and the blue 101N are two that I would love to add to my collection.

When I last looked (fairly recently) there were still some blues in stock from a few retailers. The choice of nib width may be limited, however.

I haven’t seen that tortoise offered by a retailer, at least not during recent searches. It is a beauty.

That sounds entirely too sensible. 😆

Sounds like the Lizard M101N is next on my list I think I'm going to try and gamify collecting the M101Ns. I'm planning on making them rewards when I reach some goals in 2024. Guess I better get disciplined.

I also have more pens than I can reasonably use, so I bought another pen chest. I've also got some more pen stands on order so I can at least decorate my office with the ones I'm not currently using. How it looks so far:

I've thinned the herd in the past, but I'm realizing I'll probably never spend that much time on acquisition and modification again. I have some broken pens that could probably stand to be rehomed. We'll see how much time I have as I work on the house and the horses this year.

Spectacular display!

A real treasure chest.

The Olivine is a very nice green.

Very nice indeed, like an old bottle green.  I think I might need one!

Thanks guys!

Another M200 demonstrator from this month's buying spree just arrived. This time its from eBay in Japan. This one  It looks like it was still wrapped in its factory fresh Pelikan paper. I'm so used to the tiny extra narrow cheap boxes this was a bit of a treat.

And the unboxing:

And a writing sample with its extra sharp EF nib. Feels like a James Bond disguised weapon:

So pointy!

Those M2xxs are a lot of fun, and not nearly as hard on the budget as the Souveräns…

beautiful pen!

Exactly. Which explains why I have more of the M2xx versions. I love the Cafe Creme. It would be nice if Pelikan came up with another pen that had complimentary colors.

The Cafe Creme is a really nice looking pen. Plus, ink window!

I would like to find a Café Crème myself one of these days. Very attractive pen. Way back when (maybe 2015?), I had one in my hand at the Galeria Kaufhof in Hannover, and I put it back and didn’t buy it when I first saw it. Bad mistake.

I agree, but I am getting pretty good a judging how much I can write with a particular pen between a fresh fill and empty, and in any case, I tend to keep a spare pen handy just in case I run dry a bit earlier than expected.

I wonder sometimes just how difficult it is to put in an ink window. It is a handy feature. Makes the quest for M2xxs and M101Ns more fun, as both have nice ink windows.

My second pen arrived from an eBay seller in Japan. I think this is called the "Blue Icarus" going by the post on The Pelikan's Perch:

Notice the lack of metal banding around the cap. Anyway, here's mine:

Haven't seen this style of box in awhile:

Are the extra fine nibs for the Japanese market a bit finer than usual, or is it that these are my first EF steel nibs and they're all like this?

The couple of M2xx (steel) EFs I have are pretty fine, almost Asian EF. I have tried a few that are not quite so fine. It may depend on when they were manufactured. Yours looks even a little bit stubby.

I guess I've been too used to my big italic nibs, these things feel like little pin pricks. However, they are surprisingly nice to write with. I was worried the EFs would be scratchy. They glide across the page just fine. Still, it's too hard to see that narrow line with the lighter colored ink. I think the Rose Quartz and the lighter demos are all getting IB or wider nibs.
