Thank you, Misfit.

Yes, that grey tint makes them very attractive to me.

The logo is driving me crazy though :) , because I feel like I have seen it before.

But, I don't mind it on the pens.

I’m glad you mentioned the color because I thought it was green then blue.

I had contacted Igauna Sell and the response said they were not the seller of the White Tortoise. Strange they chose to answer a question on amazon.com for a listing they did not fulfill.

It could be they did not understand as I included the amazon order number and a link to the listing that may or may not have been done right.

On the other hand, the Iguana Sell website lists the White Tortoise for more money.

I do believe that is the same as I just bought. Yours should arrive first. Please update here when you get it. By the way, did you get to choose the nib size?

Yes I got my White Tortoise after only about ten days and its perfect. It came in a gift box with leatherette pouch. It took a few days for them to ship but I think I had ordered it on a weekend. One thing though, the listing said it was a B nib but when it arrived the nib was an M. There was not a way to choose the nib. But I didnt care as I already had a Pelikan with a B so I didnt complain, not a big deal for me. I cant find a lower price for this pen anywhere, even on eBay. I paid $180 USD.

And more

M800 Renaissance Brown (broad nib)

and M600 in pink. I did not expect to like this so much !!! It was just an opportunistic acquisition - the price was incredible and I planned to sell it right away for twice as much but I really like it !!

I added a Pelikan M1000 recently. Great pen!

This just came in. My first Pelikan. Couldnt resist the price on this M205 demo so had to jump on it. Got it filled with Pilot Iroshizuku for the first writing experience, as that ink seems to be good in anything. Ill say its a very nice pen. Love the smaller size and its going to be a great addition to the pens I carry. The nib is nice and being a M I would say it writes like a M. Its smooth its a little feedback but not overly noticeable. Im impressed

2019 has been a fast start for me. A couple pens I picked up at the L. A. Pen show:

This is a 'war'pen, CN nib and clip, no cap rings. This pen is in great shape, nice clean ink window and a fantastic writer for me. A stubbish nib with just the right amont of flex for a left handed over writer. This pen makes me smile every time I uncap it.

This pen old pen is one of the prettiest I have, I just love these tortoise creations. From maybe 1938 or 39

A clean ink window and another very nice nib for me. In fact the fellow I bought it from went through his vitage Pelikan offerings until we found a nib that looked like it might work for me. Then he switched that nib in and I took it for test drive and well, that was when I mortgaged two granchildren.

What's wrong with it? Well the cap top has hundreds, maybe thousands of tiny cracks, I guess this is what is referred to as crazing. I've heard of this but had never seen it befor. It's only visible with a loupe. Also the cap top has been so polished that all the engraving is gone, both the Pelikan Patent writing around the base of the cap top, as well as the logo on the top. I have to say this does not make me crazy. This pen is older than me and I wish I weathered my years as well as it has, plus unlike me it started out as a thing of beauty, and I think the beauty outshines the flaws. Not only that, but it is a great writing pen, one semi-customized for me, who couldn't love that?

There's more to show but that's all for tonight.

Wow!

Those are fantastic pens, DrCodfish!

Congratulations!

I must say, I love the pen rest too.

Very nice Tortoises! And nice photographs too, need to get a proper setup for that. Shooting with just my phone in the usual not so plentiful light available here up North is not the best recipe for success... :P

Right, these pens are the result of 'Deferred Gratification' (aka patience) on my part. Patience is not my long suit but this is a case where saving for the right time/pen (a couple years actually) has paid off.

As for the pen rest, I am also a hobby wood worker and this little number is just an offcut from another project. I shot these photos in my wood shop thus the pens are coated with sanding dust. I wiped them down repeatedly but to no avail. Oh well, you get the picture... (pun intended). I am working on a new pen rest, should be a little nicer, made of curly maple. Will use it for my next pen photo shoot.

You are farther north than I but decent ambient light is hard to come by from October thru mid April in these parts (northern Lat and few clear, sunny days). I have been planning to make a simple photo light box for literally years. When I got these pens (and a few others) recently I thought 'what the heck, I should just go on line and get a cheap ready made affair and get it over with'. I picked one up from Amazon, the new age 'candy man', they make it so easy. It is a little flimsy, I am still experimenting with it but so far works well enough. I did use an actual camera, what is generally referred to as a super zoom point and shoot. It would be nice to have a camera which allows playing with exposure times and diaphragm settings but, that would be money not spent on pens or exotic woods.

Beautiful pens! Great reward for patience.

Can I ask about the sleeve color of 100 pen? It is green or tortoise? These 100 series pens from war period with black caps looks very classic and stylish.

I have one in my flock in green sleeve with nickel clip and now searching for other one in full black color and gold clip.

Once again, congrats DrCodfish!

Give the prices the Pink M600 are going for on eBay, you must have gotten one heck of a deal....

I cleaned out brown tortoise and filled it with Diamine Chocolate. Also set out Alt Goldgrün. And now an email from amazon saying the white tortoise has shipped. Happiness!

The joy of a good pen makes the day good.

"It's not a fountain pen but it writes..."

Black IBM branded Pelikan 450 in almost mint condition with original box (albeit a bit tattered) and papers. A very nice piece of IBM memorabilia I bought a while back, arrived today.

Tortoise, though the part with the least brown tone has a greenish tint.
