Exactly. This particular pen was made after September, 1936 (nib size near the turning knob) but before logo change (4 to 2 chickens) in 1937.

Only one photo tells everything about the pen. No need to see the cap top logo.

Wow! Toledo is gorgeous, my congratulations!

And a little bit of my new pen... Not as beautiful but historic.

Thank you,  @readytotalk.

And congratulations on the 100!

They are amazing pens (some of the very best ever made, if you ask me).

I so want the Pelikan M215 Rings pen. But I’m trying hard to stop buying pens. I have over 100.  Too many are waiting to be cleaned.

So, are you seeing to be enabled, or talked out of purchasing an M215? 😃

They are lovely pens, with the same wonderful size and balance properties like the M200/205, but a bit heavier due to to metal barrel construction, and of course the great M2xx steel nibs.

However, they aren’t (to me at least) a dramatically new writing experience if you already have a few M2xx or M4xx pens.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I, for one, prefer your pen over the Toledo. (No offense, @Lam1, it just isn't my cup of tea).

I must say, Alexey, you don't only have exquisite taste in pens - as has been proven many times in the past - but your handwriting is stunning too.  Nice!

What is this money pit obsession hole I have fallen into?

Cult Pens tell me that my M900 Toledo should reach them within the next 4 weeks and be posted to me soon after.  It's been quite a wait, probably because of production difficulties at Pelikan.  It's an extravagance, but Cult were offering an excellent discount and it's my Golden Wedding in September, so I'm treating myself... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.  Madame is getting a surprise gold marbled & white M205, which better suits her preferences for pen size & weight.

Fabulous. Enjoy your pen and congrats on your Golden Wedding. You deserve a treat and there’s absolutely nothing to justify. 😄

It’s very kind of you to say so, @Bikerchick. I’m really pleased you like it).

I have recently stumbled across this pre-1997 Pelikan M400.

Not an unusual or very rare pen, although quite a nice one, with a slightly flexy 14C M nib.

What is slightly more unusual is that the pen is mint, never used, and has it's original box.

A West-Germany version at that.

This begs the question...  are you going to ink it? :)

I think I will, I don't really like to keep pens uninked, it defeats the purpose of going to the trouble of buying them...

None taken.

I totally get the attraction for the 100!

Congratulations on the golden wedding!!

The Toledo is a fitting self gift.

I got mine from Cult Pens too and they treated me very well, despite Pelikan's constant delays.

Eventually I found that they had one in stock with a different nib and asked them to send that one.

I hope yours comes faster than mine from Pelikan.

Thanks to a fellow FPNer, I am now the happy custodian of these two lovely birds, an M400 blue stripe (old style) and an M200 grey pearl (old style).

Thank you very much.  I hope so too... but however long it is, I'll wait.
