No worries, now that I re-read the whole thing I do not actually know if Pingu meant the nib or the trims :D

Ah thanks. I wont polish the trim! I generally dont like plating because it will eventually wear off, especially the nib which will be regularly wiped or rubbed with a cloth when inking and cleaning. The same is true for rhodium plated white gold rings which inevitably wear quite quickly because they get worn on the finger.

On that topic, you could always source a vintage Pelikan 400 series nib unit (for 400/400N/400NN). The M101N uses the same nib unit as the M200/M400 so the vintage ones meant for the 400-series pens fit right in. ;) Also, early production 400 used the same "script" style nibs as the 100N so it would be even more "correct" :D

Thanks mana. I have put on it a spare M600 14k nib that I bought 8 years ago, and although it doesnt have the vintage vibe, I think it looks nice 🙂

Maybe for 4 years lol. I start graduate school in Fall of next year. So I will be cutting down on pen purchases. I did order m200 demonstrator, m200 blue marbled, and m120 black/green (current model). I am really fond of the marbled Pelikans. I am still waiting for my m101n tortoise.Z

I think I will be holding out on the Stone Garden, and replacing it with Kaweco DIA 2 Amber. Two my eyes, the finish is nicer on the Kaweco. Similar patterns? I don't think I will ever use the ballpoint. I hate buying things and just have them laying there.

OK, you have time! :)

Enjoy the M200s in the meantime, great pens! I love mine!

And the 120 too, that is the pen I learned to write with (the vintage one of course...)!

The Dia II is a nice pen too, I have the black silver trim, a very robust pen (admittedly I prefer Pelikan nibs though).

What is the second from the left?? Its beautiful!

Thank you Aimi. It is the M600 Green OGreen which I bought in January 2012. I like it best too. It is light and just the right size for my hand. The pen material has a wonderful translucency, you can see it best in the cap...🙂 It can look very different depending on the light, bright or subdued.

Thank you for your response! I've never seen this model before; it looks incredible. It reminds me of some of the vintage green celluloid pens that almost look rainforesty. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Aimi for complimenting it, 🙂 It was a special edition at the time but you might see it pop up occasionally in the marketplace. I paid 295 new at the time, although I have no idea how much they go for now. The green has a nice depth to it.

Heres another picture of it to give you more of an idea if you are interested in acquiring one.

I feel like you're being a bad influence on my wallet  The pen is super beautiful. I hope I can see one in person sometime. Pelikan really knocks it out of the park when it comes to depth (thinking to the Ocean Swirl as well... which would go really nicely with this one... and since I have one...)

Beautiful pen at a great price. Why does getting a deal make it so much better? :)

Blue Dunes arrived today

I was slightly undecided on this one, although I do love blue M805s... but consideration that this SE came out about a year ago and stocks are beginning to run out, plus a very good price offer (on Amazon Italy) gave me the last push.

Here is a quick pic.

Wow you photographed it really well! I have the same pen, it is my only M80x, love the nib but found the pen a bit on the heavy side and too big. I inked it with Kon-Peki, they work really well.

I actually purchased this one for about $50 at a GoodWill a while back. Gave to my friend as a graduation gift, and it gets used everyday. I wish I was a one pen person.

thanks, it was a bit of a lucky shot, the late afternoon sun was shining through the window and on my desk, I put a piece of cloth I had lying around on it and took the picture with a cell phone! The sunlight sort of makes the material sparkle.

You get used to both size and weigh after some use, it's quite normal (a bit like driving a car, after a while any other car feels odd, but eventually you get used to it).

I can go from M400 to M600 to M800 quite easily, I do of course feel the difference but that does not make writing uncomfortable, I'm a bit worried of the M1000 (which I don't own) but again it might be a matter of getting used to it. I also own a few pens thinner than the M200/400, I can and do use some, I prefer slightly larger sections though.

Among Pelikans the M600 is probably my preferred size, a pity too many SEs are M800s...

that was very generous of you, the Green o' Green is a rather rare M600 now, if you were to purchase today for a mint specimen you would pay close to 10 times what you paid.
