My wife's M200 Pastel Green arrived last week or so. The M800 Demo Traditional Chinese marks arrived today. Neither has been inked yet.

Here is the newest arrival together with it's siblings (the Chronoswiss is inked with some green ink)

(forgive the bad cell phone pics. I'm too lazy to get the camera out).

to be candid, as a native speaker, I don’t find the laser-etched Chinese characters appealing

nonetheless, it is a nice collection for westerners

I especially admire your chronoswiss

Holy cow!

I hope it is a pleasant surprise! :D

I think the pen is more interesting in person.

But, I totally understand your point of view. In fact, when they launched the M805 Demo, I went with the clear one for the same reasons. But, I later regretted (go figure! ). So, I wouldn't miss the opportunity now. By the way, these were only released for the Chinese market, from what I understand, and some "got out".

As for the Chronoswiss, indeed it is a very special pen, and a favorite of mine. :)

"Now I'm just waiting for my Pastel Green M200 to arrive from Fontoplumo."
It was going to be a long wait... no mail service to Australia for rhe forseeable future.

Fortunately, Frank was agreeable to switching to DHL at extra cost, so now it's on its way. 6 more days to wait.

Glenn.

In a pen store I finally found the Pelikan Ductus P3100, that I have been looking for the last years. There are some to be found on ebay, but at insane prices that I'm not willing to pay. I know that most people find this pen ugly, but I love the looks of it. It's something different, but you can still see it's a Pelikan. It is large en heavy, and the nib isn't the most sophisticated one made by Pelikan, but I love the looks of this pen. Since the store was going out of business the owner asked me if I was interested in a Pelikan Toledo that he was selling with a large discount. After I got the green light from my wife, I went back the next day and bought the M910 Toledo as well. I'm happy (and broke) now. It's the version made in 2012 as part of the German flag serie.

My parents owned a office store where my mother was responsible for the pen section. When she retired (over 25 years ago) the painting was a gift from Pelikan.

Well done, Hans01! Congrats!

That M910  :puddle: :puddle:

My latest didn't really just arrived. It has been around with a broken piston for a while, awaiting a replacement. Finally got one and fixed it. A 1982 M400 with friction fit nib, for the 400 collection!

Thanks Lam,

I'm very happy with the Toledo (and the Ductus). Even with the discount it's the most money I ever spend on a pen. But since the Coronavirus took away all other ways to spend my money (restaurants, hollidays etc.) it was time to help our economy by spending money on a pen :)

Your M400 looks like new. Very nice pen. I had the same and used it daily for almost 20 years. Never let me down and it was a pleasure to write with. After the cap broke (I was not always very carefull with the pen) I replaced it with a M600 old style (same size as the M400). How many pens do you have in your 400 collection?

Very good thinking, Hans01!

Let me see if I can convince my wife that this is my civic duty too! :D

The Ductus is also a very nice pen. I let go of mine and regret it sometimes.

My 400 collection (about half of it is my wife's) is, partially, included in the pic below,

The one above and a couple more are missing, as well as a few pencils/RB/BP.

It's not a focused collection, since I have (way too) many mini-collections.

Thank you both for sharing your incredible finds and treasures of a collection—what a colorful array of pens! That’s got to one of the best ways to find a Toledo (hope one day i’ll walk into a pen shop and find one on offer).

Thank you, Hans01.

It is indeed very nice that my wife shares the same hobby (my son also used to collect, but lately has been too busy).

The only downside is that sometimes she confiscates some of my findings!

I hope you find that Toledo, Oregano.

Wouldn't it be even better if you walked into an antique and found one of the original Toledos for, say, $100?

Yes!! Lucky you! I wouldn’t even be able to feign hesitation long enough to say ‘i’ll take it.’ Now where are these antique shops you mention?

Oh, I never found "that one".

I just meant that, if we are in the realm of wishes, why not go "all in"

My Pelikan Toledo came from an antique shop. I paid about half what I would have elsewhere. Still a big price, but then I got a few 'ordinary' Parkers thrown in for free :-)

That's a shop I've been going to for about ten years. They know me well!

--- And I should say that even though I now have a nice little flock, I am envious looking at that marvellous collection of 400s. I didn't even know there was a red Toledo!

Too many pens, too little time!

The store where I bought the Ductus and Toledo has two m101n that I can buy for € 500 (about $550) for both pens. The pens are brand new. Now I’m in doubt what to do. I’m always in for a good deal, but do I really need these pens?

maybe after a good night sleep the answer will come to me.

@Lam1: to the left of the vintage 400NNs (one with sticker still on the barrel), do I spy a one-year-only 400N???

And the three pens to of the NNs: are those modern M400s or are they vintage 400s? (I have three vintage 400s; but don't ask me how they differ in looks from M400s...I just don't know!)

Super collection! Your (and Hans's) Toledos make me greeeeen with envy.
