Is it too much to wish for, that the Edelstein Moonstone ink next year is close to Silver Fox? I hope not, I love this ink.

It's here, M605 Stresemann, F nib. Writes very well (better than I do, that's for sure ;) ).

Very satisfying to complete the four sizes! Wish I could complete this set in the Tortoise finish... sigh...

And a writing sample, from today's Bible journaling project. The ink is Diamine's 150 Year Silver Fox.

I didn't think I could like a gray pen so much. Beautiful!

Yeah, I was really happy that the M405 Stresemann was still available when I had the money. I wouldn't want the larger sizes (well, maybe the M605 -- but I also like being able to keep pens straight and not have different nibs/sizes in the same color unless they're really easy to tell apart at a glance. But it is cool to see them all together as a set.

As for the ink, I tried a sample of Silver Fox when it first came out, but it seemed too much like De Atramentis Tchaikowsky/Silver Grey in color.

Nice set, BillH - I was inspired to use my 405 twice this week after seeing your photo. I have mine inked with Stipula Fading Grey.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Sweet! Can we ask for a writing sample? "Fading Grey" sounds like something I might be tempted by.

I think you, Tom K. and BillH have helped me make up my mind. I think I am going to order the Stressman M605 from Fritz Schimpf their Italic nib modification. I was debating (and still am somewhat) between that and the M800 Blue Dunes since I am such a blue freak. But I also love grey.

Thank you chromantic! That's helpful... may need some of that ;)

DrDebG, earlier in the year I was going to pass on the Blue Dunes, then discovered a custom ground italic nib in my box that didn't have a pen attached to it. So I picked up one of the nibless ones from the 'bay, installed the nib, and inked it with Sydney Harbour Blue.... :P It has not been out of the rotation since I got it. You have a hard choice. I bought both. Good luck!

Additions this year were few but each one special.

Old 140 as a gift from my sister s MIL, her EDC pen. Writes perfectly!

My White tortoise got a new nib this year, old M was customized by Niche Pens. Special mention of Edelstein Amber ink, which fellow FPN Pelikan enthusiast shared with me earlier this year.

M101N blue grey was a recent birthday gift from my husband, together with the bottle of Tanzanite. Absolutely luxurious combination!

M200 brown marbled is from last year, however included as my faithful travel companion throughout 2019.

Wishing you all a very happy 2020 and thank you all for beautiful Pelikan posts this year!

So after giving Pelikan a good bash for being under built for the price (which I still believe to be true for my M400 and M600) I picked up an inked-once M1000 for pennies on the dollar. I mean the pen is brand new- how could I say no?

The extra weight of the brass in the piston mechanism makes all the difference in the world. It really helps me see this as a truly up market pen, and I love the spring of the nib. Makes me think that down the road maybe picking up an 800 wouldn't be such a bad idea... though I understand the nib to be less springy on the 800.

I'm still selling my '600's because I like a weighty pen and for the price of an M600 I can't stomach how light they are. They feel too delicate.

I'll keep the 400 because it's the white tortoise and I like how it looks, but I'll never actually ink it up again.

Your image above is a delight.

Thank you for posting it here.

That's a very nice group of Pelikans.

My latest additions. I had sworn not to get into this rabbit hole... (sorry for the "old" frame, I couldn't resist :P ).

fpn_1579467529__img_7578.jpg

The top one, with a delightful B nib, will need new seals, and I believe the cap is not original since it seems to be celluloid (fortunately, I have a good hard rubber spare).

The bottom was and early Valentines gift from my wife  and it is in perfect working order, with a fantastic OM nib (that writes as OB). Already inked and writing beautifully.

Oh those are very nice! Well done. Great picture too. Now you should try letting Hamlet hold one for a picture like Yubi does

Thanks, Tom.

Indeed, a very nice way to start 2020.

The nibs on these are simply fantastic.

Thanks, BillH.

Ha, Hamlet, like Yubi, shows no interest in pens. But he doesn't stay put with a pen to let me to take a picture... too many things to discover. :)

Now, unlike Yubi, Hamlet has a fascination for Tomoe River, Rhodia... Well, to be honest, any kind of paper will do :P .

How about Theo? We need a picture of him holding a bird!
