That's a stunner Dominic. Great find. Congrats!

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

I just got a couple of vintage 400's, one a 400 with an oblique nib, the other a 400NN with a KF nib. Both took some cleaning. I haven't inked the oblique yet (I've never used one and I'm left-handed), but the KF is a beautiful writer.

This week two Pelikan's arrived. The new Special Edition M200 Gold Marbled with a lovely B nib on Thursday and a 400 NN with an EF on Friday that I got for a very good price on ebay. I wasn't expecting the NN for another week.

I had to soak it for a bit in a 10:1 distilled water to ammonia mix. First pen I have had to do that with in a while. The nib was stuck and the piston stiff. Gave it a good flush first with tap water and then filled it with the ammonia mix and soaked it up to the section for an hour or so to loosen up the threads. Once I was able to get the nib unscrewed, I used a bit of silicone grease on the end of a toothpick to get the piston back to normal. Filled it with Blackstone Green Cashmere this morning.

Just received my M1005 Stresemann with an M nib. I think Pelikan's 1000 series M nibs should be called a 3M nib...it writes extremely wet and smooth. Lovely bounce from the nib too.

Congratulations!

Thank you for the description.

I'm glad to know that there's a bounce to the nib.

May it be an especially treasured writer for you.

I've been lagging behind with adding to the flock... I got distracted by other pens (I ashamedly admit...)

At last I added the Lizard to the other M101N...

Not such a great photo (from the seller) but I had no time to take a better one, just got it today!

Thank you so much!

I've sent the nib for swap to F, the M nib had a baby bottom

My Brown- and Gold-marbled arrived this morning. Ooh, shiny!

As lovely as they both are, I think the edge actually goes to the Brown.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Congratulations!

I hope that both nibs write well for you.

What a nice way to end 2019.

Sorry for the poor picture (cell phone at work) but best of the three I took. The gold is actually pretty awesome, I think my first impression was the brown looked a little more imposing due to the dark cap and blind cap.

Both are wonderfully smooth, more than making up for my disappointing experience with the Cafe Creme.
