30 euros?  That's roughly $32.50 US.  Sounds as if you did really well, actually....  I paid more than that for what I think is an M100 from the 1980s, and more than double for an M120 from the 1950s or 1960s....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I was joking, but really paid only 30 euros. I know what they seem to be worth 😉 And this one works too. I write with my pens and this one really writes well, so very happy. Probably the best deal I ever got. And really this one was on auction / bidding dor several months. It seemed the seller wanted 30 euro's (it said so in the add) and that had not been reached. So I upped from 25 (last bid) to 30 and got it.

I have accomplished a mini-goal in my collection. With the addition of 500NN, I now have the full 500 series in the usual tortoise pattern. Still missing tortoise 400N to complete both 400 and 500 series in this pattern. Sorry for the unholy presentation box.

Pelikan Classic M200 Copper Rose Gold B and EF Nibs

2 copies? For two-handed writing? 😃

Are they as nice looking as the press photos? Mine is still in transit from my favorite supplier, but I am eagerly anticipating its arrival, also with an EF nib.

A Rappen (export) from around 1950, still working. It writes very well. I read this pen is the same as an Ibis 130. Anyway it is my favourite. But it did not come cheap: I had to pay no less than 30 euros for it 🙂

😁

€30? 😲 You were robbed! 😉

Srsly tho, well done

My bank balance breathed a sigh of relief when I found out that this drop-dead-gorgeous pen has no ink-window and is opaque.

Because if it were translucent, it would be very near the top of my ‘WANT!’ list.

I believe that was one of the reasons I may have overlooked this pen in 2018. Most other pens do have either an ink window or translucency unlike the modern version. Now, felt it was worth owning a pen which was this gorgeous.

What about this one, is it not a 500?

I just received my first Pelikan, a 2008 M800 clear demonstrator with traditional chinese labeling. I am excited to get it inked up

This is one of my very favourite pens! Mine’s an F and just such a delight to write with. I usually have it filled with Diamine Kong Girls.

I hope yours brings similar joy!

Weekend finds, Pelikan 400NN & M205 Olivine, together just below 120€ (inc. S&H). Just could not not buy them. 😅

Nice! I love my bottle green demonstrator and Olivine has been one of my favorite inks for years now. I even bought a backup bottle.

@mana Congrats and excellent family photo there.

@roshpens I had the same concerns about the ink windows (or lack there of) on the Ocean Swirl. Teal and the ocean are two of my favorite things though, so I picked one up from Regina Martini in 2019. It seemed like a huge amount to spend at the time, but the prices just seem to get crazier.  It's been pretty steady in my rotation on a diet of Pelikan's Edelstein Aquamarine since. I hope you'll enjoy yours for years to come as well.

Now I'm wondering if I should pick up the M200 Copper Rose Gold while it's still widely available? I don't really need yet another M200, but they are awfully sweet little writers. I don't think I've ever regretted buying a Pelikan Special Edition.

I have bought from Regina over the years as well. With some experience on missing the Tortoise shell/ Ocean swirl then eventually getting many years later, the way I think if I like a pen get it now. You can always sell.

Funny you said aquamarine. I hated that ink. Fast forward few years someone said it was a great ink, tried it on Tomoe, totally digging it.

Regina Martini's great. I bought my M205 Aquamarine and my M800 Renaissance from her pretty recently, both NOS I think. She even swapped a M800 IB nib in and packaged up some delicious German chocolate bars with the latter for me. (Quite nice as it was a Valentine's Day gift from my husband.) I also bought my M1000 Green and Black from her over 20 years ago, I think, and just used it yesterday with its now discontinued O3B nib. Still an utter delight to write with!

I was also pretty meh when the Edelsteins first came out. Now, they're my go to ink line. They seem safe and dependable, are easy to rinse out, and the colors have really grown on me. I've got a bottle of Golden Lapis in the post and I'm hoping it's as trouble free as the Golden Beryl has been. I even hunted down a bottle of Edelstein's Amethyst and started using that in my M205 Amethyst last week. It's always oddly thrilling managing to get a discontinued NOS ink!

I think you're right about picking up the Special Editions when they come out and are easily available. Might be time to pick up the new Copper Rose Gold with a Fritz Shrimpf italic custom grind. Thanks @Tom Kellie and @N1003U for the tip! I think it will be a nice pairing with Robert Oster's Rose Gold Antiqua.

After finally ordering an EF nib for it, my red-striped M400 has emerged from the storage case where it's been languishing and joined the flock. I've initially inked it with Sailor Ume.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

@DilettanteG Please do post a picture of the gorgeous O3B.

I'll have to take some first. It's one of the discontinued OB3 18kt nibs that was marked with a PF. Delightfully springy, probably due to its huge M1000 size. I had the talented Mr. Binder grind it to a triple broad cursive italic years and years ago. I don't know if you're still interested in a picture of a modified nib?

I think it was one of the pens I sent to the delightful Abby at Chartpak, who swapped this delightful nib for the rather vanilla one I sent it. Whenever you are these days Abby, I'm still enjoying the fruits of all the work you did helping neophyte me learn about exotic nibs! She's really a treasure and helped me focus my collection on Pelikan pens. It certainly worked as now I have well over fifty of them.
