Loaded Bronze today. Definitely not a bronze color but nice though.

Just a nice subtle orange.

Bronze rings hues of gold/brown, which are nowhere to be found. Fancy getting an orange 'bronze medal'. biggrin.png

Try it in a 'B' or '1.1i' nib, if possible. BB would be ideal.

I have a Lamy Joy with a 1.5 nib, I will fill it with Bronze. Thank you for the suggestion!

1.5i is a good choice too. thumbup.gif

I don't see much shading in a 1.1 stub. It's not a heavy shading ink.

Here's a scan of Bronze, and a photo comparison with some other oranges. Bronze is unusual in that has a peach cast to it compared to some of the other oranges I've sued or sampled.

You got an interesting amount of shading with it. My TWSBI 1.1 stub has absolutely zero.

I saw a bronze Lamy Al-Star in person at La Stilografica in Milan a couple of days ago, where it was helpfully placed diagonally over other color Al-Stars and Safaris, and my fear that it would be some garish orange-gold hue are completely unfounded. It’s a nice, almost muted bronze color, looks sophisticated. Will probably get one if I see a particularly good deal. I’ll add a photograph soon.

Looking at it with the others, I would go with the bronze and the grey.

  • 8 months later...

I got my Bronze Al-Star and cartridges for Christmas. The pen has a F nib. The Bronze ink seems a bit pale. This is another pale orange I have gotten. Birmingham Einstein Cadmium Orange seems light to me too.

I like the pen color. Photography does not always show items for the best.
