Thanks for the comparison photo because in your first pic it was looking more gold than bronze on my screen. I am still very undecided on this one.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Must be the beech background. That's why I took that photo for you guys to make a rough estimate of the real color.

The pen has a definite polished-bronze color. I sometimes handle sintered bronze parts like bearings. So I know the tone.

Perhaps you could get a piece of bronze as a color standard.

yes, I think the bronze is a love it or hate it colour. I'm on the LOVE side fortunately!!

For my own understanding, the colour is - ochre yellow brown.

Picked up a bottle of the ink today at the London Writing Equipment Show - pen looked nice but I'm not interested in another Al-Star at present.

 

Just did an ink swab - looks like a light orange to me, actually not that far off, on my swabs, from the next card, which is Montblanc Lucky Orange (on one and two swipes. On three and four, MB is darker).

Here is my attempt at an ink test LAMY BRONZE. Apologies for poor lighting. Agree with dapprman - Light Orange. Quite pleasant.

I got the pen today and the shopkeep also gave me a pack of cartridges, so I wrote a bit. I can see why people will like this ink (even though I don't personally like the colour) - it shades like crazy, even in a fine nib (I tried in in an Lamy F, 1.5, and Bold nibs. If you like the way Lamy Turquoise shades, you'd probably like this ink too.

Just the ink will suffice, probably in cartridge form. No interest in Safari and AL-star.

I like the ink, but it ain't bronze. it's just a nice pale orange. Not really a very useful ink in day to day writing, but I like it more than petrol.

I tried the ink at the Lamy San Francisco store, and I didn't get the shading others have described, but I did buy a bottle. When I load a pen with it I'll post my impressions.

Try it in a 'B' or '1.1i' nib, if possible. BB would be ideal.

Loaded Bronze today. Definitely not a bronze color but nice though.
