Delighted to find that PenBBS have added new stock to their Etsy store...so have finally been able to order a 456 in the Autumn finish, and a 355 in the Smog. Really pleased.

 

I find it amusing that two of the nicer (to me) Penbbs colours have the names Gloom and Smog. Wonderful. :)

I wish I'd known that when I was little and we had twin kitties with those names lol. I only knew them as the names of moons, never thought to check what they actually meant.

 

Just finally pulled the trigger on a black and gold Sheaffer Sagaris with a fine nib.

 

Have been meaning to grab one ever since I got my silver medium but balked at paying over £45 for a C/C, steel nail. Stuff it though. My current one is the best behaved pen I've ever used and manages to be a joy to write with despite the fact I really don't like medium nibs. It's back heavy too and yet... I adore it. Go figure :D

Two of the pens I have been waiting for have arrived, both Stipula Etrurias.

The top one is a Gallicana Terra di Siena, a somewhat limited edition (number 11 of 193). It has a very narrow 14k cursive italic nib. The line variation is minimal, from about a fine to an extra fine. It’s extremely smooth, however, and offers quite a bit of line variation through flex. The pen is very comfortable, although it is a bit heavy,

 

On the bottom is an older Ambra. It’s much lighter than the Gallicana but not as comfortable in my opinion. Although they both are similar in material and shape, I think I prefer the looks of the Ambra. I don’t know how it writes, because it came with a broken feed. I’m working on a replacement for that.

I have a Parker 45 Flighter on order. It's one of the 1980-2000 models. It will go good with my standard model. I had thought about buying a new section and barrel to remove the clutch spring indents in the section and change the color, but found this one for just a little more including 14k nib. Besides the brushed body with gold trim looks cool ;)

its not easy trying to convince the better half on such matter ... enjoy it , and in the mean time I have ordered that new Selmy clipless and hopefully it should be able to arrive my wy early next week

you might want to take a look at taobao... I see some of that going for very good prices!

It took a bit of work, but what really helped was when I said she could think of it as a memorial to my 4 years of dealing with the craziness of living in rural China to take care of her family haha.

Bingo, that's where I got it from! A deal from a good seller in Beijing for around US$280. Last year I grabbed an excellent Lamy 2000 BB from the same seller for around $100 and he even threw in a bottle of Herbin Perle Noir which I've come to love as a perfect black ink.

Unfortunately, the Taobao account I shop with is registered to my wife so there's no way to hide anything. Even with eBay the post office will call her when the package arrives haha.
