Are stub nibs practical?

My favorite stubs are not the ubiquitous 1.1's but the slightly smaller ones I have. One that started life as a B that I had custom ground for my TWSBI 580 and the stub (factory issue!) in my early 1930's Parker Duofold streamlined in Jade celluloid. Problem is - the Duofold has a button filler and is not filling at present, and well, the other is a TWSBI. I just need to spend some time getting it right. I don't dare try with the Duofold as I have no clue on to properly repair it.
