A Montblanc Question And Introduction

hello

greetings from Finland. I call me mustekyna (fountain pen in finnish!)

I have a problem with my Montblanc 144

I bought a Montblanc from Germany (a used one) and noticed that the part in the pen end (marked yellow) has a crack.

post-147086-0-57299400-1545998318.jpg

So I would need this part to be changed. Then my daily friend would be in excellent condition. I asked for a price for this change and it was 200 € and I would need to send my fountain pen to Denmark. My pen is in wonderful condition and wrotes lovely and costed 240 €.

Am I able to change the end part? How do you call this part, in picture painted yellow?. Do you think I could find an old spare part, this part, somewhere.

best regards

mustekyna

Hello and Welcome to FPN!! Glad to have you as a member!!

The part in question is called a 'blind cap'. It should be available for much less that the amount you have listed. You might ask about sources over in the Montblanc subforum. Again welcome to FPN!

Hello! Welcome to the FPN :W2FPN: , regarding your Montblanc question, I suggest you to address it at the MontBlanc subforum. However, I think this video can give you an idea about how to disassemble your pen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJBIGZ2KAKM

Your video is about the 146 & 149, totally different critters. The 144 was a cartridge converter fountain pen.

Hello Mustekyna and welcome to FPN, from Cape Town, South Africa.

To sit at one's table on a sunny morning, with four clear hours of uninterruptible security, plenty of nice white paper, and a [fountain] pen - that is true happiness!
