The S. T. Dupont converter being sold today should fit the Elysee. The earliest among Dupont's fountain pens took Parker-sized cartridges and converters, but that is long past. Where a problem arises is that the word "standard" in "standard international" is a little optimistic. They aren't all that standard. If you don't choose the S. T. Dupont converter, it becomes a matter of trial and error to find a converter that fits.

I contacted the few sellers who are offering Dupont converters on ebay...unfortunately they confirmed that converters are expected to fit ST Dupont FP but they were not sure 100% for Elysee ....converters and shipping are expensive and I need to be sure before I pay

As a current Dupont it should take a Schmidt K5, which will be a little cheaper than a Schmidt K5 with S T Dupont engraved on it.

edit: clarifying correction

The Elysee does use the standard international converter. First try a standard international cartridge and if that works then most any standard international converter should work.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was the pen bought new or from a trusted/authorized seller? Duponts are often faked; maybe you ended up with a particularly poor knock-off.
