Where Are Sheaffer Legacy Heritages Made?

Hey everyone,

 

I just bought a Sheaffer Legacy Heritage and I noticed it does not have any inscription as to where its made. This is different from my Sheaffer Prelude, which has the word USA written on the cap.

 

Would anyone else know?

Hi Pendrive,

 

A few years ago, the Sheaffer subsidiary was purchased from Bic, by A.T. Cross. Since most Cross pens are made in China; I'd say it's a pretty good bet that's where Sheaffer's are made now, too.

 

Sheaffer's haven't been made in the States since 1999, IIRC... so enjoy your vintage pen.

The Legacy line production was in the USA u til they switched to the Heritage and moved it to China. Still a good pen. The stub nib grinds were not the same though in my opinion.

Present-day Sheaffers are made in Italy. The boxes are made in China. The individual parts are probably sourced from all over. The Legacy I own (essentially a new elongated PFM) was (perhaps?) one of the last of those made in the USA. That was 1999.

I have the first Legacy off the production line. I won it in a contest that Pen Word had. It is marked Legacy One,

and at that time (1995) it was made in the US.
