The Perfect Blue Ink

Waterman blue is about as close to perfect as you need. It's vibrant yet professional, has sheen, shading, good manners, flows well in every pen (if a pen can't write well with waterman blue, the problem is the pen)

But for the blue I reach most often for, it's probably noodlers liberty's elysium. Something about it just works for me (being bulletproof doesn't hurt) followed by diamine blue velvet.

Selling a boatload of restored, fairly rare, vintage Japanese gold nib pens, click here to see (more added as I finish restoring them)

Diamine Oxford and Cult's Deep Dark are favorite blues.

Diamine Denim is favorite blue-black.

From an XXF nib, however, they do all three yield a similar color IMO.
