Monteverde Mulberry Noir

Mulberry Noir is quite a lovely blurple but I fail to see how it is “noir”. The ink writes quite wet. In contact with water it will separate into blue, purple and pink which is quite gorgeous.

(The green sheen observable in the splash is not visible anywhere in writing, not even on Tomoe River.)

Great review! I still like this color a lot.

This looks very nice, and thank you for all the comparisons.

If anyone has both this ink and Sailor Shigure, I would love to know how they compare.

Thanks for the review! Your work is always a visual pleasure to see.

If anyone has both this ink and Sailor Shigure, I would love to know how they compare.

If you go to Lgsoltek's list of inks (of which the URL is posted in his FPN member profile, as well as in his signature block), you can see Sailor Shikisai shigure is on the list, and in fact there is a link to the image of an ink splash he produced with that ink.

If you're looking for one of the squiggly swatches he produced with shigure, you can see one at:

(Google, thanks!)

Great review, as always! Since I've been head over heels for sheen ever since Emerald of Chivor stole my heart, I plan on buying this Mulberry and letting it evaporate a bit so I can make everything I write glow with a delightful toxic green sheen 😍

I love your reviews and really love the swatches. Thank you. I have enjoyed this ink, but it is NOT a purple black.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I know there are many reviews of Shigure available online. I also have a bottle. What I have not yet seen is a side-by-side comparison between Shigure and the ink in this review.

Thanks for the review. This ink immediately made me think of Diamine Bilberry, so thanks for including that comparison. I agree, it's not a purple black - but a lovely colour nonetheless.
