even though you chose a brown and not an orangey yellow to 'partner' with the burgundy.

 

I don't mind those at all. They have sufficiently different 'values', even if the hue is similar to my selection. With my post, I found the hue / value / saturation were too similar and thus discordant.

Personally I think I'd prefer to wear the colour combination you put together than that of the Brisbane Broncos merchandise. :)

I don’t have Smaragdgrün, so can’t really compare. Except Smaragdgrün looks as if it has more blue in it. I like that more and it looks a little like the Monteverde Emerald Green. Aventurine reminds me of the transparent green lifesavers from when I was a kid. I hated the colour and the way they tasted and Aventurine makes my mouth curl like they did.

Smaragdgrün is a lot bluer than Aventurine:
