MB Lavender Purple with a little MB Midnight Blue to darken it up so it isn't so red.

I'll post a pic when I do the mix...however, it is not as black as Bungubox Ink of Witch.

All this talk of dark purple is reminding me of eggplant...I thing I'm going to order a pizza with eggplant and have a glass of wine.

How about J.Herbin Amethyste de l'Oural?

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Amberlea is the expert on purple blacks...what I call purple black she calls bruise grey : )

Very Nice pen.

Thanks for your review. Is the pen present on the photo a clear demonstrator Aurora ?

Cheers

Beautiful pen and one of my favorite inks.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Thanks for your review.

Patrick, no problem, even though that writing sample is far less than an ink review and wasn't intended to present as one.

You could call it that if you want, but most people will be referring to this when talk about the clear Aurora 88 demonstrator (http://www.aurorapen.it/888-n.html) with clear finial elements (or this clear Aurora Optima demonstrator).

Beautiful pen and one of my favorite inks.

I reckon Sailor Shikiori kinmokusei would be a better match for that pen than either Amethyste de l'Oural or Cornaline d'Egypte, given the hue and saturation of the colour of the finials compare to the ones in Aurora's marketing images for the model.
