Restored Balance To The Galaxy! -Well, Sort Of!

So after my first failed attempt at getting myself a Parker 51 pen (got an Aerometric with the correct cap, but with a Vacumatic clip and travesty jewel), I set myself to restore balance to the galaxy by looking for another cap that could make my pen look like it was originally meant.

 

Unfortunately, it seems not an easy task to find a cap for these pens at a reasonable price. As such, I was left with a pen with the wrong cap and a minor leak round the clutch ring, so instead of looking for a cap, I went searching for another pen!

 

So here's what I just got. Can anyone tell me if now everything seems to be in order?

I'm afraid I have no idea about Parker 51s but that is another good looking pen, in spite of the fact I only like open nibs. How does it write? How do they compare in size to other pens? I finally got a 75, great pen but really small.

Could it be that the colors of the hood and the barrel don't match ? one is black and the other seems sort of dark blue

A 51 aero I have used for forty-eight nibs is the smoothest writing pen I have ever used.

...you must be meaning 'forty-eight years' , pajaro.

51s are pretty industuctible.

Good eyes.

Hood is black. Not sure about the barrel color. Either midnight blue or teal blue.

Yup... if plastic then the hood & barrel should be of the same color. That said, I actually kind of like that bi-color set up...
