New Cult Pens Exclusive Iridescink By Diamine - Robert And Maureen

Don't understand though why Diamine would release 3 very similar blue shade ink with monster sheening even though each one is store exclusive

Diamine doesn’t “release” the colours: they are commissioned by the store or group that will be marketing/selling the ink. The commissioners/sellers make the final decision about colour, behaviour, saturation, etc. There are plenty of other exclusives around that are not blue.

Sailor and Oster also make many exclusives. Some of those are very similar to each other.

Oh I see, all along I thought it was Diamine themselves that determines what color will be issued and then distributed to the sellers, makes a lot of sense if that is the case.

thanks for this post...I need Maureen. Thanks to migo for the comparison. Since It's different than the others 2 which I already have, I will grab a bottle but since I live overseas is not going to be cheap!

Lovely UK friend sent me a sample of Robert... Is weird... I cannot get the purple side... it only looks green, and not a sheeny green but a "matte" green.

Is interesting for sure... I really thought it could replace my Sweet Potato Purple which I only have one bottle and not planning to get more, but this is LOADS of green and not much purple.

Will take a pic later...

Strange. I get a nice balance of purple ink & green-gold sheen (see photo in post #4).

"Some of those are very similar to each other." I bought Hogado and Kobe inks and have the impression that they are more than very similar to Sailor inks. They are identical ... The buyer ends up purchasing inks that he could have acquired at cheaper prices. Something that's legal is not necessarily moral. But morality and business rarely mix well.

I've bought both but haven't tried them yet. Just a matter of time...

Does something in the inks' marketing say that they are unique?

Thanks to an amazingly generous benefactor, I can vouch for the amazing beauty of the "Robert" (deep dark red-violet), and its exceptional gold-green sheen. A most interesting ink!

Maybe Maureen is a renamed version of the other two for the general population. Skull and Jalur are both difficult for most people to get.

Robert is the one I'm interested in. I have tested Skull and it's very very similar to two other sheening blue inks I own - Akkerman Shocking Blue and Organics Nitrogen Blue. I would love it if they made a light blue or light teal with red/pink sheen but apparently having 10 inks with almost identical color/sheen is good for the market ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

They are all in different Markets. It makes no sense if you are going to chase them all, but since most people don't, then is ok if they are kind of similar.
