Sanguine-Like Ink

Recommended Posts

Lately, I've been into sketching with sanguine pencils, and am wondering if there are any inks similar in color? Or, chalky reds/browns. Something quick-drying would be great as I often draw in a random order across the page rather than working from top left down.

Thanks!

Noodler’s Beaver and Diamine Rustic Brown are reddish brown. And Diamine Oxblood is brownish red.

Thanks for recommendations Jeffery, I'll check them out, and thanks lapis for the links to similar questions. I didn't find them when scrolling through the pages, so it's nice to have them here.

Also, check out the red inks in the Red thread (in my signature line below).

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Noodler’s Tiananmen looks like fresh blood, with reasonable drying times, esp on absorbent papers. Noodler’s Fox, Noodler’s Antietam, Herbin Rouge Hematitie, and Diamine Ancient Copper can also resemble blood, albeit more on the dried blood side. Some of these have drying issues on slick paper, but significantly better on more absorbent papers. Ancient Copper has also had a chequered reputation when left in fountain pens, with some reporting remarkable nib creep and starting problems, while others see none of this. Monteverde Canyon Rust has some color similarities with Ancient Copper but is much better behaved,
