Trouble Filling Pilot Ch 91. Feed Issue?

My Pilot Custom Heritage with CON-70 converter has worked flawlessly for several years now but since my last refill I cant seem fill it properly anymore.

 

I believe the problem lies with the feed because my converter works just fine in my wifes CH 91 and her converter cannot fill my pen.

 

Comparing her pen to mine Ive noticed a slight difference in the feeds. It looks like the small cylinder in the center of the feed is pushed inward on my pen. Could that be the issue and would it be safe to push it back?

Has anybody had similar issues with their pens?
