Gotcha, what was the released price?

 

$30, or $38 shipped. Shipping my last pen was one week to the UK, and the pens going to America were about the same speed. So there may be some reviews kicking around Reddit or somewhere later this week.

That would be in the realm of the "limited" PenBBS 309 like the Galaxy.

Interesting... They are popping out on eBay everywhere now... price is around 80 USD .. and there are a couple in bidding format (around 60USD right now.. but it might go higher)

This is ridiculous, the limited production is really making the sellers go nuts over the price.

Better wait for it to return to its original price (if it's going to return) for those interested

That's nuts. Last week's release had them at 32! And from the same exact seller! Also, all the listings are from the same seller - just different accounts.

Sellers can't sell that which buyers won't buy.

There are certain pen buyers who will happily pay a higher price for a LE pen with different coloured plastic, costing the manufacturer, maybe, $2 more per unit to produce, and they jack the price up $200 per. Said buyers line up and happily pay..

Rational has nothing to do with it.

While it appears that there are some people forking over the third-party asking prices of $58 and possibly even $80, they're doing it very slowly, so the market for people willing to spend that much might already be gone, or at least very, very small.

 

Despite the recent release of awesome new 267 colours (that I just can't be excited about because I'd never actually use a 267), it looks like they're focusing production on two things right now, really: More 469 pens, and getting the 456 vacuum filler out the door. They're taking some time off to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival for another week or so. When they get back (according to Beini's Instagram) they're apparently lowering the standard $8 shipping fee. So there will likely be a fair few more 469 pens, and possibly at a lower shipped price than $38. If you want one, be patient and keep your eyes open (after the 8th).

 

Still haven't seen any formal reviews for the 469.

Thanks for the link to the review. If found the duo-coloured nib interesting. PenBBS have three different patterns of duo-coloured nibs, and this one is different than one I'd seen used on another 469.

 

More news this morning for those who don't watch Beini's Instagram, they're planning on offering the 469 in their Niangao Is a Cat gradient "soon". There are going to be so many people mixing and matching the heads from multiple 469s. (By so many, I mean about one or two dozen.) The Niangao colour is one of their most popular and difficult to keep in stock, so it may be a bit of a perfect storm for not being able to find it for sale.

Penbbs has a frustratingly amazing talent for making beautiful stuff in batches that are too small to meet demand so if you miss out and don't happen to be on the computer within moments of release, tough luck. I'm still bitter that I was traveling when the two-tone nibbed 309 in dark blue lines came and went haha.

I had to google the Galaxy.... .that was a pretty one.

 

 

Niangano is the one that I tried refreshing my etsy and ebay account for days, and never was able to grab one. Oh well...

So I just got mine (ordered at normal price - not the jacked up one) and although this reviewer has caps with slightly differently shaped ends, mine are shaped exactly the same. The color of acrylic is fantastic however - now I want a whole pen in it!

Just to inform that normality of the price has been restored (at least one seller).

The jacked up price must be the seller's chance to pounce on an opportunity since many Chinese sellers are on holiday during the last week and stock are low.

Not really...On Ebay at least, there is just one Auction that is still in normal range, but no one offering to buy now has the pen at normal prices.

I think there should be more released by PenBBS tomorrow, and possibly in other colours.

 

Edited to add that I was off by hours: They just went live. There are 469s in four colours currently available on Etsy and ebay.com in the PenBBS official stores.

No, you should really check it. Yesterday reputable seller jpzh11 has it listed at normal prices $30 ish dollar.

 

Today it gets worse for your buying decision I believe, because PenBBS official listing has THREE new colors ranging at around $30, the Niangao ,Dusk Mist and Kryptonite.

The Niangao and Dusk Mist looks really sweet. Come on PenBBS, make a non transparent barrel one!

 

Edit: Also check out the nibs that will be coming with some particular materials in PenBBS pens now, I like the standard one for simplicity sake but this one is unique nevertheless:
