Yes!!! Now I can forgive you for changing the Barrister Blue formula so it's no longer leaning toward blue-black. :D

Perhaps now I can finally get that 100% waterproof midnight blue I've been searching for...

I know what you mean. The original Barrister Blue was really a blue/black but the 'new' Barrister Blue is a pure blue. It's very hard to capture the true ink colour with these swatch pictures but this might give you an idea of what Barrister Blue Black looks like. It actually looks much darker to me than this but it's definitely a blue-black. To my thinking a Midnight Blue would be a purer blue without any obvious black.

I think nano pigment inks are the future for fountain pen inks though especially as the pigment technology continues to improve, being driven by the printing industry. More colours are slowly becoming available so your elusive Midnight Blue may one day become a reality.

Beautiful! Thanks for posting a pic!

For me a midnight blue is just a very black-leaning blue-black. I've found it in the non-waterproof Schneider "Nachtblau" cartridges, but nothing totally waterproof.

This new Barrister Blue-Black looks like a great candidate. I wouldn't be surprised if just adding a little Barrister Black to it would create what I'm looking for.

Even if not, it looks like a great unique color and this blue-black addict is looking forward to getting a bottle!

I agree, nano pigment inks do seem to be the future. The only problem I've found so far with them is that many feather and bleed too much, but they keep improving.

Thanks for developing these great inks!

:( RIP Old Barrister Blue . . . a firm favourite of mine.

Alas I was never able to get a bottle! I'm really hoping the new blue-black is similar.

Apparently the online sample at Anderson Pens is from the original formulation of Barrister Blue. I was very disappointed when I received a bottle of a medium blue ink. I know...I know...I should have gone with a sample.
