Retro 51 Tornado Lincoln

I was thinking of getting a retro 51 tornado lincoln for use on cheap-ish paper, and I was wondering if the copper finish will develop a patina over time or if it is coated with something to prevent that from happening. I really cannot tell just by looking at the pictures. Thank you!

This pens' coating is very durable. I purposefully stripped mine so that it would develop a patina that I could periodically polish.

Again, I've used mine for over a year before I decided to strip it.

I posted mine, and the barrel has a ring around it because of that. I don’t know how to get rid of the mark. I’ve tried soap and water and a bronze polishing cloth.

Otherwise it is the same color it started as, no patina. Retro 51’s website calls it a burnished copper finish. But is it really copper? One website mentioned brass and aluminum materials.

Sorry for the dead-thread pick-up: what did you use to strip it? How did it work out?

Definitely strip it. I have one of these and I can tell you that it will not develop a patina straight out of the factory. Great pen choice!

just to echo...I have both the (retractable) rollerball and the FP....really like them both, but I find the FP ends up in my pocket more often
