I think a brown ink is needed in their line, hopefully one that leans slightly more red than black.

So, where did you find this? The previous CEO already hinted at 10 inks last year to Brian Goulet.

Please tell me they won't change the bottle and double the price...

I wondered if this was coming. I felt like their special edition colors over the last few years were their way of dipping their toe into the ink market and finding out if they could make money in inks. I'd like to see a small selection of colors done well.

Glad I was not drinking when I read the original.

Me too -- otherwise it probably would have gone out my nose!

Really hoping that they make Dark Lilac a regular edition color.

I think Mr. Trapp is setting a trap for disappointment, hopefully the launch lives up to the hype.

I will believe it when I see it (no relaunch of earlier/old colors).

OTOH, has Lamy previously launched 10 inks in a single instance?

I know they've had the copper, lilac, petrol, and a highlighter color or two as LE inks - but do they even have 10 recent inks to just re-label or even more ballsy - remake as the same name?

Additionally, the note mentions their regular colors and the fact they do LE inks at times would lead a normal reader to conclude these would be new colors. But, it's Lamy, so who knows? Maybe they re-brand their standard colors and bring back a few crappy LE inks and say it's 10 new things!

That is my guess too.

I am afraid I don't understand: what's the problem with Lamy?

Absolutely nothing. To keep myself from raising my heart rate, I'll go with the answer of 'nothing'.

We'll see 10 brand new inks from Lamy by close of year, 2018. They'll be such inks, we'll forget about Parker Penman Sapphire, Aurora Black, and Noodler's Apache Sunset with remembering them only as the 'before-Lamy-10-new-ink-times'.

Since it was a sincere question and that I was not looking for sarcasm as an answer I'll try and be more specific: Lamy will (maybe) launch 10 new inks. I can understand skepticism about that, but I can't help noticing that other brands don't get that treatment. Everytime Sailor produces a new ink,it's all "aaahhhh"and "ooohhh!", and this is true for other brands and for the pens as well. But when Lamy launches a new product, there is always a lot of skepticism and critics (some that wouldn't be well received in other parts of this forum, esp. in the one concerning another famous German brand). Recently the Aion was received with a lot of cold remarks, although it's the event of the year IMHO (a FP of this quality for this price?!); the 2K anniversary received a lot of bad comments (including from me as I do find it too expensive, but the pen is nice). Besides Lamy inks aren't the most exciting on the market, but they perform very well, and the bottle design is probably the best there is. Hence my question : what's the problem with Lamy? Hope this helps.

Sometimes I believe that Lamy is perceived as the FP equivalent of Volkswagen. No matter how nice they are they will never get the "ooohhs" and "aaahhs" of its german brethren BMW and Mercedes, I mean, Pelikan and Montblanc.
