I recently acquired this ST Dupont. Thing is I'm not sure what type or age it is. The nib is 18K - but I'm not sure whetehr it will take Parker or International standard cartridges. Thank you.

Thank you. I thought it was an Orpheo/Olympia.

have made the cartridge mistake before and it got very messy.

Sorry but I fear that is NOT an ST Dupont fountain pen. I certainly hope I am wrong but pretty sure it is a fake. The nib and section are wrong for an Olympio/Orpheo and the Fidelio only had 14 k nibs.

Is the nib magnetic? If so it's definitely fake.

I recently bought a Dupont on eBay that ended up being my first counterfeit pen. Fortunately the seller refunded the money but it was still annoying/traumatizing. I was too naive and assumed counterfeit MBs were the only ones I had to worry about. The eBay seller I bought from even had a good review history, and the pen included an original warranty card from a well-known vendor (who confirmed that the reference # on the warranty card didn't match the pen). The ebay seller has a few other Dupont listings which I'm highly suspect of and I'm waiting to see if he re-lists the pen I purchased.

I'm now paranoid about buying second hand Duponts from unknown sellers since these pens are easier to counterfeit than piston filled pens.

Actually, today it is as easy and cheap to counterfeit piston fillers as any other type pen.
