The Japanese site is amazing, though not quite finished yet. I enjoyed the gallery a lot, great show of vintage pens & ink, unfortunately I don't understand anything and google can't translate the pics like the site :glare:

In my Firefox (on Ubuntu) it keeps loading and loading and loading ...

Typical Japanese - many developers of their so-called IT departments check only Windows and Apple.

 

I checked on Chrome, where it loads correctly. But what did I find? Nothing. Just some "good-looking" pictures. Typical Japanese, either it is a poorly made homepage (most times) or it is a flashy page without any content (this case).

Doesn't Pilot understand that we would like to see what they offer for their 100th anniversary?

Too many pens; too little writing.

The gallery is a total flashback. Saw the old Custom 67, which I haven't seen in ages.

 

Also sent on a trip down memory lawn with the Razor Point. I used to go through those pens like mad, back in the day. Those and the Fineliners. For a while, Pilot had a huge selection of colors for their felt-tipped pens, but then they disappeared. I think Marvy Uchida bought or blatantly copied the thin-barrel Pilot felt tip pens, and now they're available on JetPens.

Really?

There were some famous advertisements for other products which fall into such a category - but not this Pilot page.

To help add to the hype, my US based Namiki salesman has been communicating with me for over 3 months on my Namiki Urushi Vermillion No. 20 order. This just arrived today:

 

 

"Pilot just confirmed that they are receiving the pen in this month from Japan. Depending on U.S. Customs it could arrive anywhere from next week to the end of the month, As soon as it arrives here, we will get it shipped out to you. I'm sorry for the slightly longer wait then anticipated, apparently Pilot has been having manufacturing delays due to preparations for their 100th anniversary. I've asked to be notified when they receive it in."

Oh wow. So that suggests an urushi-coated LE.

I just bought the custom urushi black, so hopefully they have something better than that for 100th Anniversary.

Any idea what they would launch under Namiki?
