Doric Desk Set Colors/generations?

I have a couple questions about Doric desk sets, prompted by this recent purchase from a fellow member:

 

 

As you can see, it's a 1st gen color (Burma) with 2nd gen features (viz. trim, nib). After inspecting it in person, it dawned on me that I'm not sure I've ever seen any other desk sets in 1st gen colors. Has anyone else? Does speaking in terms of the 2 Doric generations even apply to the desk sets, or do they cut across that distinction? At first I considered swapping the banner nib for a Gold Seal, but I'm beginning to think it might be correct in view of the later trim configuration.
