Does anyone have experience with Niche

Pens custom grind on a Pelikan m80x? Were you satisfied?

I'm thinking of ordering a m805 medium and having them grind it to a stub. I would like about 0.8 line width on the down stroke.

Somebody recommended them in the poster wanted a narrow Lamy 2000. A reply said, Niche Pens, would make sure it was smooth and grind it down to the size if the pen was bought from them.

And adjust the nib to the angle held.

Probably make it wetter or dryer if desired....would have to ask them ....They would have to know what inks you will use and what papers.

I don't worry much about that....some insist that all their pens are a 7/10  .....my objection to such is......can't change inks nor paper.........because either will change the 7/10. Then what?????

Where is the fun of looking for perfection of finding the nibs perfect ink on the perfect paper.................oh, well, some folks are satisfied with one size fits all. ;)

So would think, they could do a stub easy enough. Do send a picture showing your preferred hold angle....45 or 40 degrees. Not that I know if that would make a difference with a stub, but it might.

IMO the angle you hold at would make a bigger difference if it was to be ground CI. So pictures are a must there.

Thanks for the feedback. I did decide to place an order for the m805 with a stub. Turned out to be just what I wanted. Good line variation but a smooth everyday writer. Shipping to Canada was about 7 days.

Niche seem to do a decent nib job AFAIK. They have been friendly on all my dealings over the years.
